Happy's Rec List - Fifth Element
Hail and fair Morrow good readers. It is time once again for another edition of my list of Recommendations. Today, I have for you, three mighty excellent pieces of fan-fiction, drawn from the archives of the mighty and honorable Avengerkink! Once again, I warn thee, fine and honorable readers that there shall be no editions of this recommendation list from this coming Friday for at least two weeks, as I shall be without internet or computer for that period.
Today's first recommendation is as follows.
Iron Woman by Jaune_chat for Anonymous

This is the second piece of Jaune_chat's fic that I have reviewed. This one is for the prompt "Pepper has secretly been practicing with one of Tony's old Iron Man suits. One day, when Tony's sick/injured/otherwise unavailable, she suits up and surprises the team."
Quite simply this is one of the best pieces of BAMF!Pepper fics that I have read. The concept is simple, the execution, excellent. Pepper has been getting more and more worried about Tony. Not over anything specific, just because he's Iron Man. So she confides in Jarvis that she would like to do something about it. With his help, she does. Jarvis makes Pepper her own suit, she practices with it, and proceeds to kick ass to save Tony. Even the Hulk approves of her BAMF-ness.
A Letter to my Hero by ramsaybaggins for happy2pest

Warnings: Child Abuse (Non-Sexual - One mild on screen instance)
Once again, I return to recommending fics for fills that I myself prompted. The prompt is as follows: "Thor receives a letter. A little girl has written to her favorite superhero, begging him to rescue her from an abusive father. Thor goes all... Well I would say Biblical, but Thor's from the wrong religion."
Ramsay_Baggins was in fine form when this fill was written, and it presses all the buttons I asked for, and more. Bruce and Thor having a tea-party with the little girl. Hawkeye being renamed Birdy. BIRDY BIRDY BIRDY! Uncles Oosah and Green. Mr. Viking. I love this fic a lot. It's well worth the read
One Tin Soldier by Hakaisha for Anonymous

Warnings: None
The five times the avengers came to accept Steve Rogers as their leader, and the one time he came to accept them. This is a wonderful fic full of good moments. Steve not giving up on a man. Him taking the blame. Sheer Balls. It's excellent, It's well characterized. And it's a wonderful read.
