Monday burn Millay, Wednesday Whitman, Friday Faulkner, burn 'em to ashes, then burn the ashes.

Burn the ashes.

You can't protect anyone from fire. It consumes them, dries them up until they cannot move. That's why we always used it. It was everywhere. It was primitive. It was the root of our civilization. We still claim it as an invention, but that was never right. The invention was the belief that we could control it.

You cannot control fire. You must only ask it and pray that it does what you request. Some know how to ask. Some don't.
