So many are thinking about fear. it seems to be a theme for this month. Running around in costumes as children, pretending not to be frightened the older that you get. But it's so very rooted in our existence. Fear. It's necessary for survival. Why do you insist on throwing it away? Fear makes you obedient, when used correctly. I believe I'm simply extending upon a point made earlier by many but...let me explain.
The Admiral, if this is purposeful, is using this for his own ends. What those are...well, that's left up to your own interpretation. Why give us a port like the one before, where bad things were literally incapable of happening? To follow it up with this. To make very certain that we all felt the fear. Each of these...happenings are designed to sink into the very depths of our insecurities. The unknown. What do we hear? What are we seeing? He is fooling our senses, taking away reality in the best way that he can. So why is this a surprise? This is an entity who takes away our very being during floods sometimes. Why is this any different? Why are you so afraid of the unknown? Here, on this ship, when most of you have seen horrors beyond all imagining...why are you afraid.
Why do you give him more power than he already has? Every day you give him power. Every time that you stay in your rooms, every time that you watch what you say in case something or someone is listening? That's giving him power. And that's how it starts. That's true fear. Letting it guide you. Twist you. Every little jump in the corridor is a victory for the Admiral. And you lose a part of yourself.

Do not reply to this until you've had sleep. He gave me something I already knew. I don't know if he realized that, though. I'm sure he did.
