Television. Let's talk about television.

I didn't watch television much prior to the Barge. [Movies, on the other hand...] I was busy, and nothing was particularly engaging.

...

But sometimes I would have my assistants record documentaries for me. [I've decided that Rex likes Animal Planet.]

Safe in what sense? There are some who would argue that knowledge isn't safe.

Nova! [Said with some happy excitement.] And... animal behavior documentaries, particularly those focused on predators or herpetology.

Knowledge gleaned from television is rarely dangerous, I suppose. And certainly not knowledge tailored for the lowest common denominator. I prefer to get mine from experience, books, academic journals...
