Well, it's been a little while since I wrote anything and I guess I now have something to write about. My parents got in a car accident yesterday. They are ok (thank God), but they are in a lot of pain. My dad broke his tibia and fibula (the bones in the lower leg) in his right leg and now has a two inch diameter rod in his leg. It was a compound fracture so the bones were sticking out of his leg. He also fractured his right heel and has a cast on that. His chest is all bruised and really sore from the seat belt and the steering wheel (which is mangled). My mom broke her collar bone (from the seat belt) and bruised her left ankle really bad. We went and saw the car today and it is completely destroyed. They were going 40 miles an hour (which is the speed limit) in the left lane on Delaware Ave headed home and a mini van in the left lane of oncoming traffic (also doing 40) crossed over and hit them head on. She only broke her wrist. Her license plate was molded over our front plate and around our front bumper. I had to pry it off. There are holes in her license plate from the bolts holding ours on. The impact also ruptured all the containers of fluid in the front of our car, so every fluid in there is all over the road from the left lane, where my parents were, over into the right lane. My dad was admitted into the hospital yesterday since they had to do surgey on his leg to reset the bones and put the rod in. We don't how long he'll be in there, but it will probably be for at least a couple of days. We are also now completely car-less. Hopefully, the insurance will help out with that, but we have no idea. I ask that everyone pray for my parents to ease their pain. All the prayers that can be said are much appreciated and I hope they both get better soon. I have faith that everything will work out for the best. Maybe now my parents will stop buying foreign cars. Just kidding. :) Regardless of seeing them and the car, it is all very surreal. Anyway, I have to go now. Take care all. Bye!
