Smile, and celebrate your uniqueness - I know I will
A coworker brought his wife and mother-in-law through today and introduced them.
He told them I was originally from Alabama, like him.
"Auburn or Roll Tide?" his wife asked.
"Oh, neither," I replied.
She looked surprised.
"Not really into sports," I explained.
She said something to the effect that that was rare.
"She's a phenomenon," my coworker said. I hope that was meant in a good way.
I am certainly such a mixture of things, with my Southern upbringing, travel internationally over the years through the Army, the people I've met and a boat load of eclectic reading and life interests. So I'm going to take that as a compliment, smile and celebrate my uniqueness.
We should all do that today.
