Give Me Some Sugar

I've been noticing something. Just here and there. Maybe it's the existence of Men's Pocky, a less sweet version for those macho manly men who don't want to eat girly feminine..uh...chocolate-dipped pretzel sticks. Right. Or this helpful list, which will make sure you don't shame yourself by ordering something as revolting as a drink known ( Read more... )

I always go the weirdest direction on stuff like this...

Human breast milk is sweet and sugary --so maybe in a strange primitive utopia where all else is equal, women get the privilege of being allowed to like sugary things because it is suited to their natural and nature-given powers? I've always felt that some of the gender stereotypes are not so negative for us and not that big a deal and maybe even help to compensate for some of the others. Like, I enjoy wearing pants without getting stoned to death, but it is rather nice to have doors held open for me, too, especially when I'm carrying things ( ... )

Wait, I just looked at that drink list --there are at least five drinks on there that are stereotypical men's drinks, at least where I come from. Bourbon and coke? Black & tan? Vodka tonic? The Dude's famous White Russian? If I ordered any of those in my local bar I would be congratulated on my bold and unashamed lesbianism. (Which is also silly. I can be mannish and like cock, damnit!)

That's what I was thinking, what's unmanly about a black and tan?

I think that's a stretch. Also, as a childfree woman, I have to say that I bristle at the phrase "natural and nature-given powers." Breast milk isn't some mysterious "power." It's a bodily secretion. It shouldn't be glorified any more than the ability to produce semen should be.

but it is rather nice to have doors held open for me, too, especially when I'm carrying things.

Everybody should hold doors for everybody else, IMO, regardless of gender.

Also, I can do without the men who only hold doors for women they find fuckable, while letting them slam in the faces of women who are ugly, fat, and/or old. As well as without the "chivalrous" fuckwads who make a huge display of holding the door for you, then get all pissy about "feminazis" when you don't suck their cocks for it. Sorry, dude, I don't fellate people for basic courtesy.
