Where??? Mask's house!
When??? this evening
Who??? Weavile & Mask, UNHACKABLE!!!!

Mr. Mask finished filling in a form, and shoved all his work into his one drawer that was filled with important looking documents. He grinned happily and jumped from his desk across the room to his coat rack, that held no coats ( Read more... )

As Mask sat by the organ, Weavile settled into a relatively cluttered couch nearby. He had to move a few books and papers, but he managed to find the soft cushion beneath.

All throughout the story, the pokemon counselor watched silently in amusement. The legend itself was interesting, but Weavile was more entertained by Mask's organ playing. Mask was actually pretty good, which didn't surprise Weavile as much as it probably should have. He was getting too used to Mask's quirks yet again.

When the story was over, Weavile paused before asking, "How long have you played the organ?"

Admittedly, Mask had not expected that question to come first. He was thinking Weavile would ask something like, "What's a stal-army?"

But the organ was fine.

"I've been playing it since I was... ten!" he declared, "I started on the piano though," he shrugged.

"What about you? You have any special talents?" he asked.

"That's quite a skill you have," Weavile nodded towards the instrument. "You're quite good. I wouldn't mind listening to you play some more."

He fell silent when asked about any special abilities. To be honest, Weavile didn't think of himself as a talented person. The things he enjoyed to do didn't really seem all that difficult to him, such as reading and the art of psychology. He supposed some of his pokemon skills could count, but those were certainly not one in a million. A slight frown flit across his lips, "I can't say that I do..."

"Aw," Mask started in the song, Elegy of Emptiness, "I'm sure you have some sort of skill!" he commented.

"Everyone's got a talent, whether or not they know it!" he smiled as his fingers scrambled over the keys. From the tank behind the two, the Zoran baby, Miruto could be heard giving off a soft hum to the song.

Weavile smirked at the vote of confidence. He had never thought about picking up an instrument or anything, but he liked to think that his skill was one that he hadn't found yet. "Thank you... I suppose I'll just have to keep looking, then."

Ears twitching again, Weavile glanced over at the small Zora. It was a bit odd that such a cute creature would reside alongside a man like Mask, yet somehow, it seemed a fitting. Although he did not know the song, Weavile found himself quietly humming along as well.

Mask grinned, "Hee-hee," he looked over his shoulder at the Zora child, "Miruto, dear, would you like me to play your song?" he asked. The little Zroan baby was completely able to communicate, and so she began to bob herself up and down to signal a yes.

Mask chortled and started a new tune, this one smoother, and on a deeper note. It was like a bout of jazz.

The little Zoran baby chirped loudly, since she knew the song well.

Mask whispered to Weavile, "This is the New Wave Bossa Nova. All Zora babies know this song by birth!"

Weavile 'hm'-ed peacefully as he reclined on the sofa and listened to the music. The tune itself was catchy, but it was even more pleasant to listen to the young Zoran singing along.

"They know music out of instinct? That's quite an endearing adaption," he gently smiled at the Zora, hoping it would understand the compliment.

"Oh yes," he explained, "Zoras are perhaps one of the smartest species in Hyrule!" he explained, "For although when they are young they look like pets," he grinned at Miruto, "They are actually like humans in brain capacity!"

"And their little song," he explained, "Is said to be the tune at which all Zoran babies' hearts beat before they hatch from their eggs!" he chimed.

"They cannot hatch without their siblings, you see, and people say that all the eggs together will have a harmonious rhythm by nature," he informed, figuring this was a good time to explain Zoras to his friend. "They really are s miraculous species!"

"That does sound quite amazing," Weavile agreed. "It must be quite a spectacle to see, or rather listen to, the Zoran eggs hatching." He wondered briefly if he would ever be able to experience such a spectacle. But after befriending Mask, he knew it wasn't impossible.

Watching the Zoran baby chirp happily, he asked, "How long is their average growth cycle?"

Mask pondered for a moment.

"Well, I'm not sure, really. They are long lived, and I've had Miruto here for about a month now, since she's only one month old, but she should have legs by the time she's eight. The average life span of a Zora, I've heard is that they live to be close to two hundred!" he informed before starting another song, this one called The Bolero of Fire.

"Two hundred?" Weavile raised an eyebrow. "That's quite long, certainly longer than most pokemon life span. Well, legendaries being the exception, of course."

Pausing, he looked over at Mask. "You do know about legendaries, correct? After all, we do have a few at this school already..." It was at that moment that Weavile realized he was the one asking all the questions that evening.

"Indeed," Mask chirped between notes, "I know how they work, although I don't know the extent of their abilities!" he chuckled.

"I've learned that they are rather much like the Four Giants of Termina! They are ever living, but very mysterious," he tried at his own analogy, "But please, do correct me if I'm mistaken!"

"Well, legendaries are extremely rare and more powerful than most pokemon. Trainers are extremely lucky if they ever cross paths with a legendary..."

Weavile smirked, adding, "Or they could just come to SumaBura. I believe the legendaries that we have so far at school are Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, Mewtwo, Manaphy, Latias, Latios, Shaymin, and Sky Shaymin." Actually counting them all, there were more than Weavile had expected.

"However, I doubt we'll ever see the creator pokemon. They're like gods in the pokemon world. Although the other legendaries are on a completely different level than regular pokemon, they are still far below the creator legendaries." He would have continued, but he didn't want to over load Mask's sense, like how his were earlier that evening.

Mask scratched his chin, "Fascinating," he murmured. "Sounds like the Goddesses and Four Giants all right!" he chuckled.

"Indeed, we have creatures much like that in Hyrule," he added. "And what of you, Weavile? On the pokemon scale, how well do you rank? If you don't mind me asking."

Weavile flinched a bit at the question, not expecting it at the least. How was he supposed to answer something like that? Sure he had helped his trainer defeat a few gym leaders back in the day, but that was quite some time ago. He hadn't fought anyone in a while. Just using his abilities in ginjinka form during the springs trip had tired him out.

"I'm... not quite sure what to say. I suppose I'm average. As an adult, fully evolved pokemon, my level is relatively high... but I haven't battled anyone in a while, so I'm probably a bit rusty," he admitted a bit awkwardly.

Mask smirked, "Ah~ I'm sure you're better than you think!" he commented, "I read somewhere that pokemon get strongest when they're older!" he laughed.

"But I'm nothing special either, I've never had any big adventure of my own, like most people at Suma Bura," he added in to help make Weavile less awkward.
