Four Christmas parties successfully navigated. Granted, one was back in November when my parents and sister came for T-day. The other three, plus Christmas Eve church service, were today, though. It's been a busy day, and I think I have strep, which has just made my day all the more interesting.

Apparently this is the year for white fleece sweaters. The first one is okay, not really my style. Okay, correction: it used to be my style, but then I saw a video of myself in a similar shirt and have sworn off of them forever. The problem is that it has an enormous oversized turtleneck collar. I like turtlenecks. The oversized ones are especially comfy -- very cuddly and snuggly. However, I have a smallish head. It's not generally obvious, but in the video it looked like I'd been attacked by head-shrinkers. There was an enormous grey sweater with a tiny head poking out of the neck. Knowing this, I can't ever wear the sweater.

Then today I received another white fleece sweater. This one is a different style, closer to a daishiki style, but with very little embellishment -- just some subtle silver embroidery around the neck. I wore it over a red hoodie pullover and quite liked the effect. Very warm, though. I had to take it off at today's second party.

In addition to the French press and coffee grinder that I got with my Grandma's Christmas money, I got a set of pink pajamas and fuzzy pink slipper socks (Mary Janes!) from my well-intentioned but often misled Mother-In-Law. She made me wear them. I feel like a giant pink cupcake with Scottie dog sprinkles. I came out and Mark looked up and said, "You look like a pink nightmare!"

I hate pink. Two years ago my sister-in-law gave me pink pajamas. I gave them to my ex-girlfriend. Pink. Paisley. Someone has a totally backward perception of me. I thought they'd figured it out last year when I got a black nightshirt and coffee with a travel mug.

Okay, they are comfortable.
