Most unusual week

I decided to write before mad time elapses and there's so much cromp to write about. Tuesday was Into It, as usual, though this was the election candidate episode where the hopeful FUSA Pres and VP talk about why they wanna be elonkted, etc. I was in the control room, doing my job "powering up and down," which is really, literally NOTHING...there are two switcher boards in that room, one of which isn't hooked up and I play with the slider making sound effects like "power up" weeeEEEOooOoOO cuz it looks like something out of Star Wars or something. So basically I distract people and occasionally pretend like I'm in charge and I'll be like "hey, good job." Kristen sits behind me and executive produces (which at time of filming is less than even I do, though she does stuff other times).

So anyways, she found this box of HAM channel bottle openers that get given away. She said I could have one and so I took one and started playing with it. I discovered that if you scrape your finger nail on the sharp part backwards it feels really weird. Then she showed me that if you use it like a regular bottle opener on your fingernail, it really feels like you can just pull it off (and you really might, we haven't seriously tried). But yeah, that was a mistake cuz that's all I kept doing for HOURS...like put it on and apply and little pressure and freak out. Then I'd be like "hey come here" and do it to various people, who'd either freak out or be calm as ice, depending.

I agreed to host a show about movies for the HAM channel. We're shooting this afternoon, in fact. This first episode is about the Oscars and since I hadn't seen any of the movies nominated, I was advised to see Crash. Well the library lost the DVD, so I thought I was funked, but Wednesday they called and were like "we got it" so I watched it. Pretty good movie. Really, really hard to explain, but it was definitely powerful and all that. So many characters and the plot really meanders, but it was worth seeing. Too bad I was like "funk that" when Parshva kept wanting to go see it whenever it was in theaters lol.

I was doing homework Wednesday afternoon, and I really didn't want to so I was like "Hey, I'll check my voicemail." I pick up the phone and there actually was one! It was from a kid I know named John, and he was asking me to play sax with his band on the song "Young Americans" at a gig that night. He told me they were gonna get together around 4. I looked at the clock and it was 4:30. Deciding "this could be hat" I grabbed my alto and went down to where they were. We played for a little while, then said to meet at this place at 7:45.

So they went on at 8. I played on a couple other songs like whenever I felt I had a decent riff or solo idea. It was mad laid back haha. In the end, the set went on too long and we didn't even get to "Young Americans," so it was a good thing I just played on whatever the funk I wanted. Two other bands came on, both of which were really good, one of which was Clementine Broadcast (formerly Miles Standish Monument) who was great as expected. They have a couple songs I realllly like, and they play well on everything, so it was very enjoyable.

Yesterday I filmed Vick for my Filmmaking "DV Portrait." I was editing it, and the problem is it's mad boring. Like, it was fun just chongling with her, playing video games, making sandwich, eating, etc. but when you look at it on film it's like "uhhhh I don't give a fat ba doot doot doo doot." So I hope I really have the assignment straight and people didn't like film crazy stuff, or script it. But I'm pretty sure the teacher said lots of real time, no edited music, show what they do. Ioknow.

As I was editing, Fr. Mayzik came and was like "You're getting a letter." And I was like "what?" Then I realized he was talking about my movie proposal for the grant. He didn't say much more, but I believe this means I was awarded the money, and will be filming this summer! I guess I'll wait for the letter to be sure, but it's looking up. And it was funny cuz he was standing next to me just as I was finished cursing at the computer for being the third I tried in that room that wasn't cooperating with my tape.

Yeah, and as my away message currently says, I was waking up this mornign and thought it was a little cold. I knew the window was open, but I do that with the heat on to balance warmth with fresh air (also, if the heat was just on it'd get sooo hot). But anyways, I was like "nah, it's fine." When I finally woke up a couple hours later, I realized the heat WASN'T on. It WAS cold as ice!! But that is crazy man, mind over matter. I was sure it was warm so I told myself it was and I believed (kinda).

Rumor has it Ashly and Whitney are coming home this weekend (and possibly Parshva?!), so hopefully we'll get together and do something extreme. Though I do have mad work/commitments, but I'm gonna try to get it all done so honk pullery can h. Hmm...and I guess I did write a lot.
