So, Sunday.
Matthew called me earlier in the week wanting to go see the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo before it disappeared. I thought it was a sequel and wanted to see the first one before seeing the second one. After a little research realized that it is a remake of the original that was made in Sweden or Danelaw or sum shite like that.
So I said I would go.
But I felt weird all weekend... Like I was about to get sick or sumffin.
Saturday I went to work and just vegged cuz i felt so weird... I was invited out to go drinking with Ryan and Alex (former roomies) for Ryan's sister's 22 birfday. After getting home I just wanted to climb into bed and not move. So I sent my regrets.
The next morning I was still feeling out of sorts but better. Matthew called and wanted to know what I wanted to do. I said I would go. I took MUNI down to Castro on the N Judah detour. They shut down the tunnel for the weekend so they were using the detour buses. I get to Castro sort of on time. We have lunch at Cove (falafel & patty melt) where I saw Ed and Matt having lunch.
After lunch we went and got tix and walked around until the movie started.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo: It was a well paced thriller/murder mystery with great character development. You were fascinated by Lisbith upon introduction and wanted to know more about her. I find her character akin to Sherlock Holmes and Agent Pendergast. Also, it was good to see Daniel Craig as something other than James Bond. He played a vulnerable journalist. I enjoyed almost all aspect of the movie, however, I thought the rape scene was unnecessary (didn't help to further the plot at all) and it bothered me when the movie started turning into Saw. But I highly recommend it and would like to see the original and the sequel.
After the movie, Matthew went home and I headed for Geoff and Eric's for Leo's birfday movie night. When I got there they already got through one movie and were about to move on to Amazing Race. But as I arrived, they took a vote and decided to jump in the hot tub. Ed was asleep on the sofa so it was Geoff, Eric, Other Eric, Leo, Tyler, Matt, Misha, Adam, and me. There were rather intellectual conversations going on in the tub. There was talk about the Puerto Vallarta Trip. I declined the trip on the grounds that I blew my budget on the Classy Formal Dressup Cocktail Party to which none of them came to, where I gave them 2 months notice for. Of course everyone winced at that statement. They had their excuses but, really?
We watched AR and went back to the tub. Then we went back inside and had an interesting conversation standing around nekked in the kitchen. The other Eric is studying to be a linguist in Berkeley. I really had no idea what a linguist was or did so we had a lengthy discussion about his chosen profession. Soon after I got dress and left. I caught the N Judah in front of Safeway and within 15 minutes I was home.
Monday morning I woke up with a fever. I called in sick where I volunteer Mondays and stayed in bed until Scott came over with some congee and dim sum.
The stupid roommate still haven't thrown out that stupid kombucha box in the dining room. It's been 3 weeks.
