And yo, LL Cool J. Nice of you to "forget the iron chains." Thanks for the blanket forgiveness for the original sin of the American nation, that still stains our country's discourse and behavior. But I don't think anyone elected you priest nor Pope, so perhaps you should hold off on proclaiming absolution.
Meanwhile, I think that there is absolutely a need for frank, honest conversation about race in the USA, and art and music must play a role. But this kind of knee-jerk sense of grievance and smooth sell-out doesn't belong as part of it.
