Okay, this is just nifty
Last week, hapaxdaughter told me in sorrow that she wouldn't be able to follow our tradition of lighting an Advent wreath with daily readings and prayers, because open flames are (sensibly) prohibited in her college dorm rooms.
This week, she excitedly showed me her solution.
She has painted her nails, like so:

and every night, as she says Evening Prayer, she places a tiny dot of red "flame" on the tip of the appropriate nails.
"Look!" she said, showing me her white painted thumbnails. "I even have Christcandles, for Christmas Eve!"
