happy new year an' stuff
hope everyone had a good holiday season. mine was wonderful
my brother was here, bert's sister was here, i spent time with both sides of my family and bert's family as well.
i'm proud to say that i am now a proud parent of a 4lb, 12" baby girl named, pearl. she has a 80gb hard drive, dual layer dvd burner, and absolutely beautiful. :) (thanks, dad!)
i addition, i received 100 dollars and a 100 dollar gift card from mom, the full house season one dvd set, one of rachael ray's dvd sets, the goonies and american history x from my brother, 140 dollars from my grandpa, 183 dollars in mostly cash and one gift card from my uncle, a jewelry box and some starbucks stuff from bert (we went light on each other this year), and several stuff from myself. it was a profitable christmas to say the least.
new years could have been a lot better. WAY better. bert and i usually go out, as it's our anniversary as well (well, actually...we don't really know when our actual anniversary is, so we picked january 1st.), but we got in a huge argument, and he did his thing and i did mine. it sucked. but we talked things out yesterday, and all is cool, but i swear i won't be dealing with any of the bullshit i did in 2005 in 2006.
i don't have any resolutions. everything that i set out to do i usually do anyhow. i guess mine would be the usual: gain money, lose weight. i just want my family and friends to be happy and healthy.
i've gained about fifteen pounds total from my lowest, which was in november. HOWEVER, i knew this was going to happen. it was just way too hard with my birthday in november, bert's sister and my brother home in december, christmas and new years. it's back to the grind tomorrow, and please believe that i will maintain my goal weight of 150 by the end of this year.
2006 promises to be great. we're moving onto the main campus at work (right now we're in the corporate building for taco bell. ever see those del taco commericals in front of the taco bell building? i work in that building.). bert and i are working diligently to find an apartment. my best friend and bert's best friend are expecting their first child together in may (tentatively a little girl named jasmine.). the only down side is that my brother will be going to iraq. i don't want to deal with it until it comes. but i'm hoping 2006 will be something wonderful.
my grandma died unexpectedly fifteen years ago at the age of 56. i miss her.
and it's off to a wonderful start...it's raining on the rose parade. LOL
so here i am, waching the rose parade alone at bert's house (he's at work. his mom's in belize for his aunt's 50th anniversary. she's married to the attorney general, so it's a big deal over there.), snuggled up in a blanket with pearl in my lap, listening to the pouring rain, and planning to do a little shopping in a bit. mmmm...this is nice. :)
