So I finally start updating this journal again, and you know what happens? Car crash! I am bad at describing things, so here it is by picture (with my beautiful mouse drawings). It's pretty intense!
My friend Molly and I were heading out to the zoo to meet up with some friends and soon came across a 4 way intersection. Now, we aren't sure where we are, so Molly is a bit distracted and doesn't see a stop sign. So as we are passing through, this maroon pick up truck just RAMS into the rear passenger side (one foot up and I would be in a hospital bed right now D:).
According to the driver of the truck, Molly's car flew through the air when he hit (now, he had to be going pretty goddamn fast to make us airborne and travel so far). The car crashes down on the driver's side and is stuck in the middle of the road with its wheels off the ground.
Now Molly and I are stuck. The car is sideways so we can't get through the driver's door. The door next to me on the passenger's side is stuck and I can't get it open. At some point Molly's seatbelt snapped, I suppose, because she's loose and is just sitting on the broken window on the driver's side. My seatbelt is stuck so I am hanging sideways in the air with the seatbelt straps digging into my skin, but I am fine otherwise. Let me just say I freaking love side airbags. Seriously.
Neither of use are seriously hurt (right now I'm just sore and have a smattering of bruises and scrapes), but, quite understandably, Molly breaks down into tears and freaks out at this point. It is very difficult to try to comfort someone and stay calm when you are suspended sideways in midair, haha. But, thankfully, a rescue squad shows up pretty quick. They manage to get the passenger door open and help Molly out first (since she's mobile and all). One of them drops down into the car to cut the straps of my seatbelt and then helps me out. Once I'm on the road some crazy bystander dude starts shouting about Jesus and how the Lord saved us. I am just thankful for Molly's super sturdy Honda CRV!
But yeah. I was terrified of driving before this accident. This didn't help matters any, haha. I have this big line on my chest where the skin is starting to get discolored/bruise from the seatbelt. My mom is already joking about how I am going to look like a walking
NO sign.
In happier news, I just heard from my roommate for the first time! Delightful.
