I took it as a dig at Hanson for seemingly trying to emulate Michael Jackson's music style in a lot of recent songs.

Thanks, I had this image of MJ rising from the grave in mind and it wasn't pretty.

There are lots of weird connections between Hanson and MJ.

There was the song he wrote for them as well as a rumour that if you play Mmmbop backwards it says MJ has to die for hurting kids or something like that.

I didn't know about the latter. Sounds too far fetched to be true though.

I more took it as they were going to record and release the song that MJ had written for them (but hadn't had a chance to give them the song) before he died.
