I finished! Yesterday around 3, but LJ wasn’t working for me all evening…
I can’t believe it!
Everything makes so much sense now!
Chrissy was right about RAB…go you!
But why did so many people have to die?
And who died that wasn’t specificaly mentioned? (I counted nine named: Hedwig, Mad-eye, Dobby, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Crabbe, Snape and Colin Creevey. But it was mentioned that about fifty more had perished.)
Dumbledore, so much we didn’t know about you… And I had a feeling you weren’t completely gone!
Harry saved Draco twice! But there was hardly any of him in this book. Though when everyone was celebrating it was cute that him and his family stayed. I had a feeling they weren’t all that bad. And the nod in the epilogue was so full of meaning (to me anyways, giggle).
Percy: Welcome back!
Ron, Hermione: Could you have picked a weirder time to start something up?
Harry: Stop obsessing over Ginny (I’m just glad there was no roaring beast this time).
Go Nevelle! I knew he’d do something important!
I think I love Ron...
What happened to Grayback? (Was he killed? Did he make more werewolfs? Did he turn some people then die? Did I miss the explaination of him?)
Go Molly Weasley! You Rock!
Poor Snape and his unrequited love. I'm so glad you weren't evil after all, but I wish you hadn't had to die to show it...
I didn’t like the epilogue. It seemed like a weak attempt at proving that everything worked out in the end. Though I did like the Albus Severus bit. It was cute. I kinda wonder why Sirius and Remus (and Fred too) didn’t get remembered in names… And who is Victorie? Did I miss something?
Now I just need to read it again to make sure I took it all in. I’m pretty sure I missed some things. Like that thing in King’s Cross (the child-like thing). What was that? (Was it supposed to be Voldy?)
Before I read it again there are some words I need to look up. Here’s the ones I didn’t understand from the book:
Irascible - easily provoked to anger
Subsuming - to consider or include (an idea, term, proposition, etc.) as part of a more comprehensive one.
Truculent - fierce; cruel
Rancorous - full of or showing bitter, long-lasting resentment
Occluded - to close, shut, or stop up
Sentient - having the power of perception by the senses (I was sharing these with Mom and she said that Data for Star Trek wanted to be a sentient being and that was where she knew it from. That's when it hit me, I should have remembered this one. *sings* Life Forms...du du du du...You tiny little life forms...du du du du...You precious little life forms... du du du du...Where are you?)
Sibilant - characterized by a hissing sound
Quiescent - being at rest; quiet; still
For two nights now I’ve been awoken by dreams about the book. It’s been really weird and been keeping me from sleeping much. Also, it’s making me paranoid about whether there is something under my bed (again, I thought I’d gotten over this fear) and it’s made me worry about walking through a dark house. It’s really freaking me out.
