Fishermen often tell tales of "the one that got away." This is the photographer's version of that story.
I have talked about Peelander-Z on here a number of times. They are one of my favorite bands to photograph because of their outlandish costumes and crazy antics. Each year they do a bunch of shows at a variety of locations during SXSW. This year I caught them at the Japan preview show which ended up being in a small dark club. //i thought about trying to catch one of their other shows but I had already photographed them a number of times and trying to work in one of their other shows would mean missing something else on the schedule.
This morning I came across a picture from another photographer at SXSW that he took at one of the Peelander-Z shows. It is one of those photographs that happens only once and you just have to be at the right place at the right time to get it.
I congratulate F. Yang on getting this pic, i will always consider it to be "the one that got away."
