Writer's Block: Birthday Shout-out
Well, in terms of satisfying, I think most definitely book three: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; I think so simply because the backstory and the balance between frivolous mischief and deep-cutting storylines, not to mention the brilliant characterization and subtle foreshadowing, made the book quite satisfying indeed.
But when you ask about my favourite, I would probably have to say (of course, like so many others) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. But be warned! I am not a fan simply because of the movie. I enjoyed, upon first reading it the moment it came out, visualizing the various characters and reading aloud in different voices the stupidity and the hilarity, as well as gasping in the appropriate places, such as the cave scene and Spinner's End at the beginning.
