People, places and things
So we met a ton of people that live on this street. Most are very friendly and will stop to talk to us when we are sitting on the porch. One guy is from here but moved to "Cali" 10 years ago and came back here becuase his mother died. I feel bad about that part, and hes ok when hes not drunk but he is no longer welcome here. I never would have guessed too that hes gay. I like his friend though...We talked about a lot of fun things that we relate to and his favorite topic one night was Dynasty. Ok so I don't fully remember it but i do remember enough to want to rent it from netflix when i have the time to sit and watch tv. Some flight attendants walked by the other night and invited us over, which i honestly dont think they thought we would show up, btu we did! We talekd and had some drinks for a bit. I spoke a lot of german with a guy from morrocco..he was really nice and his wife was so cute.
Contractors suck. Well most do. The ones from Winthrop so far are trying to rip us off cuz they think we are loaded. John and I are dong all of the work. Seriosuly, all of the demo and clean up. All we need them to do is build the structures and thats it. So how does building a 5 foot wall come out to $14,000? No..maybe $1000. They don't listen to what we want, instead they tell us what they want and we dont care. My fathers client is a contracotr, and he came and we actually really liked him a lot. Hes not from around here which is a good thing because the town is small enough that there is a lot of "talk" going on. Plus, why does it take 2 weeks to get someone to come and write an estimate. It honestly shouldn't take that long, but it does.
Today is my favorite kind of day. Its sunny but cloudy at the same time, very windy, and very cool. It reminds me of Europe. Actually, Winthrop reminds me a lot of europe. The watertower hill is so neat. It really looks like where I lived in Germany with the houses built up the sides, overlooking the beach. Its neat. Even E said it reminded her of germany before i even said anytrhing. I think becuase where I live is the livliest, and there are alwyas a lot of people walking to restraunts and stores which are all on this street.
Well, i gotta get my gas mask thing ready so i can tear down more valuable plaster. Oh and call the dumpster people to ask if they can deliver the dumpster earlier than wednesday> We have a lot of debris to throw away. I also have to plant my rose tree because its basically dead now.
