More dreams

I'm not normally a fan of gushing to everyone about dreams. They're usually full of personal imagery that doesn't mean much to anyone else and because of their not needing to stick to a proper story arc, much less euclidean reality, they tend to lose focus and become somehow weird and uninteresting at the same time.

HOWEVER

I don't normally remember my dreams and this is the only venue I feel worth recording them before waking life flushes it from consciousness.

So in this dream I was at my grade school at a convention of some sort. This isn't all that strange, the hall there used to(and probably still does) host baseball card conventions and my parents would run the concessions stand so I got to go to and work a bunch of these in my youth. Anyway, it was a convention of more nerdly pursuits thus my interest in attending. I am there with my high school girlfriend and cooli_stylite. While Cooli and I are hashing out a deal over some cards of dubious origin (it was a magic card but looked like a Yu-Gi-Oh card (seriously Jim, no one cares. But I am compelled to tell you readers that I do NOT play Yu-Gi-Oh, so whatever), these two huge cartoony looking aliens, clown-like and angry and 15ft tall somehow get into the hall and start mashing people. Panic ensues I and everyone run away. I go the wrong direction as everyone else bomb shelters it up in a gymnasium in the basement unbeknownst to me (I learn this at the end of the dream). I think everyone is dead or just evacuated and I eventually find a way out while the giant aliens are trapped inside. When I leave I set off the fire alarm condemning firemen and police to dealing with the seemingly invulnerable aliens (I forgot to mention that, they only seem annoyed by attacks against them of any sort, apparently there were a variety of weapons at this convention that conventioneers felt compelled (rightfully so) to use). But the alarm sends everyone running out of the building and I am reunited with my ex-girlfriend but with no sign of Cooli anywhere. Sorry Cooli, dream-knowledge told me you were okay and drove yourself anyway so you were good. Ex and I jump in her car (which was danielleybelly's strangely enough, and drive off. As I try to navigate through excessive construction, I wake up.

I know this is more useless tripe cloggin up your friends page. Maybe I'm not as good a friend as you thought.
