Battle for our Happiness.

It's time to post the poetry I've been hoarding for months. Sorry there will be SO many posts.

Disappointment reigns over me

All his mighty scepters taking lead

He follows first a flash of tears

Then straight forward with all his might

He dashes dreams to pieces

Brings heartache into the light

Oh foe of great degree!

Oh miserable wretched hipbone

That you swing your weapons from

That I'd settled down earlier before

Content to merely survive

What's this "living" I so earnestly seek?

I should be content to be so weak

But I put on trudges and trudge I do

Through murders and terrors of the night

I must be a boar that I purge so ahead

That I ravage every path-entering being

Like I'm entitled to the power I pretend to wield

You wield it all, oh Lord Disaster

Blanketing the earth with a steady feeling of inadequacy

Reminding us that we never were useful

Punishing us for ever thinking we were

How we fit the description of a terrorist so well!

We try to overcome your kingdom

Bomb your injustices and blow up your degrades

Thinking we'll leave this land happier still

We never leave at all

We build home in Moroseville

And find our liking in Gripes Town

Never content to endure the unendurable

Sometimes we believe there's a way out of this blasted hole

Like we think we could be fulfilled

But, Fuck-

There's no way we can be whole

We're just bodies to fill his providence

Stupid little mongers for him to pour out his rage on

To give way to disappointment

If it doesn't settle in us, then where does it go?

If he can't keep it in our souls, then where?

We used to fight it

That medicine-flavored illness called Depression

But now we swallow it eagerly

Gulping it down in listless sized bulbs

Swallowing it in one swoop

Thinking there must be no other way

When do we mount up our resistance?

We've been idle for far too long

We've been labeled as terrorists when in fact-

In fact we are victors

We're Saviours in some senses

Almost God-like in some circles

We've let them convince us we are weak

Allowed them to plow over us

To ground us underground

To plant us in rocky and poisoned soil

No longer!

NO LONGER!

For now we are victorious

Or we will be

We will not falter with any defeat

There shall be no defeats

Only gravity, sweet gravity

Pulling our captors

Pulling our demon leaders to the earth

Crushing them under the weight of their injustices

Burying them with their own haphazard ways

Their own miniscule and undermining digging the grave

While we-
Sweet tyrants that we be

Find homage in our happiness

Find breath where we once choked

We sit up and take notice of what surrounds us

Find our shackles less controlling and more flower like

Find our prison cells as beautiful palaces

Find our eyes-

Once glazed over or punched out

Now fully alert and functioning

Able to see and be

Able to find all our enemies

Any that would dare to tear us down

And fight back

This is a battle for our happiness

And we WILL NOT LOSE.
