this is the easiest way to tell everyone without having to repeat it over and over again. so, here goes...i was in a wreck last night...it was the first one i've ever been in and it wasn't huge and awful but it was wasn't a little fender bender. i was driving back from brevard (about an hour from highlands) after having dinner with my new friend veronica and i was getting to the last little stretch of highway before getting to highlands. it was sprinkling a little bit (the tropical storm/hurricane was coming through the area) and i was going around a curve a little bit over the yellow line (not an unusual occurance around here) when i saw a car coming around the next curve so i turned the wheel to get back on my side of the road and the wheels slipped and i swerved a couple times on the slick road and ended up perpendicular to the road with the nose of my car facing up the mountain and my back bumper in the ditch. to make things worse, i had no cell service where i was. but thankfully, the person i was trying to miss (he told me later that he was actually further away than i thought) stopped to make sure i was alright. i was just shaken up a bit but no broken bones or bruises so i used his phone to call my dad and then the police and then the tow service. we ended up waiting for a couple hours before my car was finally out of the ditch and back on the road. there are a few major bruises to the front fender and the driver's side door from where i hit some saplings and parts of the mountain but no major damage that i can see. i haven't been to a mechanic so i'm not positive that the front axle isn't bent...but it cant be all that terrible considering that i drove it home last night. everyone who came to help was very nice and considerate...i guess it helps to be a cute girl in a situation like that. i haven't cried yet and my neck kinda hurts from tensing it up (i'm pretty sure i dont have whiplash or anything). i didn't get to go to bed until 3 last night and i still had to go to work this morning at 830 so i'm really tired...and i need to call my mom...
moral of the story: drive slowly on slick mountain roads late at night
