It's time for a random post! woohoo!
--I don't know why, but I've been avoiding all things journal lately. I haven't even written in my real journal lately. I think I'm just lazy.
--I started following this little girl I went to church with back in Alabama on
Instagram, and I think it was a mistake. She keeps posting pictures of
One Direction. I didn't care for boy bands when I was a teenager, and I sure as heck don't care about them now.
--My username on there is hanneyjo1, by the way, for all interested parties.
--I took Evan to get his last immunization before I could register for him in school today. I was also informed that he would need a
TB test. Does that seem weird to anyone else? He had to have a TB test to start Kindergarten. He freaked out a lot. It definitely didn't help that the nurse told him, "It won't hurt much. It's just like an ant bite." Thanks, lady, for freaking him out even more.
--I registered Evan for
Kindergarten today. I'm excited, but as I sat there thinking about him in school, I nearly teared up. HE'S STILL
MY BABY BOY, DANG IT!
When did this...
Become this?
Look at that handsome boy...
--The kids have been extra funny lately. Evan has to be told constantly that he's not "the boss" b/c he likes to boss his little sister and any other person around. I've told him so many times now that he just knows when I give him the look, and says, "I know. I know... I'm not the boss..."
--
That reminds me of another amusing anecdote... Lauren was playing outside in the back yard, and she came back inside to get something. Evan shut the door and refused to let her go back outside. When I asked why, he said, "I don't want her to get dirty!" Mr. Mom. It must be hard to be Evan and have to make sure that everyone is doing what they're supposed to be doing. :)
--I'm trying to remember funny things Lauren says, but she doesn't say a whole lot of funny things. She just does funny things. OH! I made her sit at the table until she finished her dinner the other day (pancakes and sausage. why I should have to force a kid to eat pancakes and sausage is beyond me.), and she broke her sausage into little pieces and started to pretend they were cats and dogs. "I a tat. I a dog. Ooooh. Dat's so nice." She went on for a really long time with nothing but sausage to play with. She has a really good imagination. She'll sit on the toilet for a long time just singing and playing. If she doesn't have toys, she'll use her fingers or anything handy nearby.
--My brother says that she reminds him of me when I was little... I used to play with our family's toothbrushes, pretend they were people, and make them, ahem, kiss. :)
--Today at the health dept during our looong wait to get Evan's TB test, he had a few toys, and after playing with them for awhile, he noticed the other kids didn't have toys. He started passing out toys and eventually ended up with none and told me that he liked to share his toys with his friends. It warmed my heart. Love that kid.
--I posted this on Facebook, but in case you missed it. Evan was asking about nice words and bad words. He asked if there were more nice words than bad words, and I said yes. He then reasoned that if there were more nice words that we should say only the nice ones, and I said, yeah, but some people like to say bad words. And then he said, "That's because they don't know that Jesus is the Son of God." I was shocked. Did that just come out of my 5 year old's mouth? I thought about it for the rest of the day.
--I'm on the last level of
Super Paper Mario for the Wii. I play it for the kids. :)
--I just beat the
Temple of Time on
Zelda: Twilight Princess. I also play it for the kids. :)
--I'm serious. They ask me to play.
--I think I saw a UFO the other day. I don't know if it was actually an alien aircraft, but I really have no explanation for what I saw. It was during the meteor shower a few weeks ago. I think I need to report it to
Fox Mulder ASAP.
--Who names their kid Fox?
--Tomorrow night is supposed to be a
SuperMoon night, so be sure to check it out!
--Well, I just spent the last forever looking up dumb videos of Fox Mulder on YouTube, so I think I'm going to stop and end this here entry. Good night, all!
