Man, I've been totally slacking on updates lately. I put most of the blame on the fact that my computer likes to shut down at random moments, so that before I can even make it to lj, the computer shuts down, and I'm yelling at my computer for being a douche.
I'm stopping every so often to turn on keyboard demos for my kids. They're dancing around. It's pretty cute. Andrew gave me a
NEW KEYBOARD for Christmas! Yeah, I know it's not Christmas yet, but here's the deal... our church has nobody that can play the piano, so I've been "playing" in Relief Society, and I needed to practice. It's SUPER nice, and I love it. The old crappy keyboard is now in the play room, and the kids are forbidden to touch MINE! MINE!!!!
We were watching Blue's Clues this morning and it was called "Cafe Blue." Pretty much, Steve and Blue had a pretend restaurant. So today I decided to do that with the kids for lunch. I spent like 5 minutes drawing out a menu. (I'm a terrible artist.) And then I put a table cloth on the table, had the kids sit down, and I explained the menu. Their smiles while I was taking their orders was awesome. And I didn't have any fights about eating lunch. They were really excited.
So yesterday, I was going to run errands and my sister-in-law Amberly was going to watch the kids for me. We have a deal where we switch out kids, so that we can run errands in peace. It's pretty nice. So I told Evan and Lauren that they were going to their cousins house to play. Evan wanted to leave right away, but I told him it wasn't time yet. I told him he could play outside for a minute while I got the list together, and then we would leave. I said not to go in the street and make sure Lauren stays out of the street, and I would be right there. A few minutes later I went outside to check on them, and they were GONE! I was freaking out! I checked the van. I checked inside. I bolted down the sidewalk towards Amberly's house. (They live around the corner from us.) I ran as fast as I could, and since I'm a total klutz, I tripped and fell. I scraped up my knee, but I just jumped right back up and kept running. I'm pretty sure there were people outside, too, but I didn't care. When I got there, Amberly was trying to call me to tell me they were there. The little boogers walked all the way to Amberly's house by themselves! I was scared out of my mind! Evan was proud of himself and said that he did a really good job, and that he was a big boy. Geez....
Note To Self: Never let the kids out of your sight for 5 minutes again!
That scrape that I have on my knee? Yeah, Lauren likes to poke it and say, "What's that?" It's not fun. At all.
There's probably a bunch more I could post about, but Evan keeps asking me question after question about some old pictures, and I can't concentrate. If I don't post before Christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
