In order to avoid complaining about my current situation, let me take you back to the weekend before we moved... My family all got together to have one last party before we and my brother Noble's family moved away. We took a family picture and ate good food and the kids played on a water slide in the backyard. I even got to see my Dad get in a water balloon fight. Good times. Well, at the end of the day Saturday, Andrew and I took Lauren and went into town to use our Chick-Fil-A coupons we got at the 5K run we did that morning. Evan wanted to stay and play, so we let him. When we got done, we went back to my Dad's house to pick up Evan. Evan was being really weird. He said, "I want to go home." What the what?! That's not right at all. He also kept saying that there was a party at our house. I asked everybody if they went to our house, and they said no. Then, we started looking for Evan's shoes and couldn't find them. He said they were at our house. Again, we were really confused b/c we didn't think he had been there. They all told us that if they found his shoes, they would get them to us. We finally just left shoe-less b/c it was way past bedtime.
So we get home, and I open the door. Evan jumps in and says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" This is what I found:
Yup, my family rolled the INSIDE of my house. And Evan helped. They told him it was a party! Oh, don't worry... there are many more pictures of the madness...
Evan was really upset that we were taking down his "party." He ended up getting sent to his room b/c he threw a fit. Poor kid. We had to explain that the party was over, and Andrew made him happy by showing him how the toilet paper burns in the fire place.
I was laughing as soon as I saw it. I could just imagine my family's laughing faces as they were doing it and thinking about how much fun they had. It was my sister Amber, her husband Robin, and their two boys Noah and Jonah, my sister Amy and her four kids Rachal, David, Gracie, and Vicki, and my brother Joshua and his wife Anna. I wasn't mad b/c I knew that they would only do something like that if they loved me--which seems kinda backwards, but whatever. That's just how the Pettus clan rolls. No pun intended. HA! I sure am going to miss that bunch.
