For those of you who don't know, I also keep a
Relief Society blog where I summarize lessons and such. I've been keeping it for awhile; the whole time wondering if it was doing any good or if anyone was even reading it. It almost felt like a waste of time, really. I was spending tons of time writing with only an occasional comment from a family member saying they liked it.
Yesterday, I sent out my weekly e-mail to the Relief Society women and included the link to my blog, as always. I haven't updated in awhile for various reasons. A few hours later I got an e-mail back from a lady who has not been to church in a long time saying that what I wrote really hit home with her and that she really liked it. It sounded to me like she wants to come back, but she's still slightly unsure about it.
And while I'm unhappy for her plight, I'm glad that something I wrote actually helped her and helped her feel the Spirit and God's love for her. Maybe we can help her come back and realize how important she really is to our Heavenly Father. Unfortunately, people forget that sometimes and think they're nobody.
But we're always somebody--we're children of God. We have the potential to be like Him someday. That's why we're here.
I read a great quote today in the Ensign by President Uchtdorf that said, "Never give up on anyone. And that includes not giving up on yourself."
No matter where we are in life, we can always turn to God for help.
I'm grateful for the reminder yesterday that even the small efforts I make to share the gospel are actually worth it.
