FLUUUUuuuuuu

Welp, Evan has the flu. Poor guy. He seems to feeling alright at the moment, though. He was dancing around to TMNT and swinging from his bunk bed. Earlier today, though, he complained of a tummy ache. I let him lay in my bed b/c for some reason, laying in mommy's bed is way better than laying in your own. I walked out for a minute and then heard him crying. I went in to check on him and next thing I know, he's puking all over the place. It was terrible b/c he was laying on his back so it just went right back on his face! Poor kid... I felt terrible for him. So my sheets have just been washed. Blech... throw up.

I don't know what it is about the flu that makes him want to wake up freakisly early and be ready to play. Today he woke up at 4:30am and came in our room, climbed in our bed and wanted to talk to me. And then yesterday, he woke up at 5:30am. I got in bed with him that time, and he just wouldn't stop chattering. How can a sick two year old have so much to say?

Although I hate that he's sick, I love that he will snuggle with me. He never snuggles with me anymore. But now he keeps asking me to hold him. I'm loving that part. :)

Lauren is still okay, but I expect her to get sick any day now... she puts everything in her mouth, so it's only a matter of time. I figure I'll get sick, too. Andrew might be able to escape it, but we'll see.

I did some research on flu to see how it's spread. It can live on non-porous objects (like plastic, metals...)for up to 2 days! It will only stay on a tissue for 15 minutes and skin for 5 minutes. And a person can be infectious for up to 10 days! And kids are even more infectious. Adults aren't contagious until the 2nd or third day of symptoms, but kids are even before they have symptoms and then continue to be for up to 2 weeks! Also, you usually start showing symptoms 1-2 days after getting the virus. So we figure Evan got it on our trip into town Monday night. *sigh* Stupid people going out in public with their sicknesses...

I like being in the know about things... yay for internet. yay for wikipedia.

I am SO glad we went out wednesday morning and had fun at the park before all this stuff happened. Evan got to play on the playground and run around and have a good time before he got sick. Wednesday night, he had a fever of 103.

Anyway, that's all the excitement that's happening at our house. STAY AWAY!!!!
