I'm calmer now...
Last post... yeah, i probably shouldn't have written then. Way too vulnerable at that point... probably freaked people out.
Anyway, Lauren is doing much better today. We found out that she does NOT have staph infection, so no more gloves and gowns! yay! The place on her leg is gram-negative bacteria which is apparently the same stuff that's in poop. we think that maybe there was a place on her leg where they tried to stick her from an IV and something from her diaper got on it and got infected. It's being treated with antibiotics. I'm just glad it's not staph.
Also, the stuff that's in her stomach is clearing up. It was a really dark green color, and now it's more of a yellowey color. The nurse told me it would go from dark green to light green to yellow to clear, so we're almost there! Once it clears up, they'll try feeding her again. I hope it clears up in the next couple of days.
She was also a lot happier today. She seemed more like my Lauren. She didn't seem to be in pain and she would be awake for long periods of time without crying or needing a pacifier. It made me so happy! I'm so glad she's feeling better! man, she is adorable. I love watching her explore the room with her eyes. So cute.
I finally got a call from the Ronald McDonald house today! I am now staying in a freakin' awesome room for only $10/night! AND it's within walking distance of the hospital! So many blessings today... today was a pretty good day.
The only sad part about today is that Andrew had to go home. :( Joshua and Anna brought my car down for me. It was good to see them. But my Andrew had to leave. It's been nice having him with me. I've really needed him this time to distract me from my thoughts. If he hadn't been here, I probably would've been crying every second of every day. He was such a support to me. I love him so much.
I miss my Evan. It seems like in this week that we've been gone that he's saying more and more stuff! He's so cute on the phone. The other day, he didn't want to get off the phone with me and daddy. I'd tell him to give the phone back to Granna and he would start talking about something else. And eventually he started telling me "no! no way!" haha
I really hope we get to go home soon, so we can be a family again. *sigh* Well, i need to go to bed, I suppose. OOOH! My room here... has a SLEEP NUMBER BED! how cool is that?! :)
