Trying to get out of a blah mood...

Evan just fell asleep on the floor in the living room. I'm debating on whether I should move him or leave him... and i'm also debating on whether I should take a nap or watch a movie. B/c I'm definitely not doing anything work related. I feel pretty blah today, and I blame the weather. It really affects my mood more than I realize. It's been cloudy all day. but it's not as cold as yesterday. I'm able to use the central heat instead of the fire! yay! (don't ask... *sigh*)

I want to go somewhere, but I don't at the same time. I need to figure out what I'm going to fix for dinner... and for lunch tomorrow with the pettus family. I can't believe christmas is in two days! it's craziness. Andrew's off work tomorrow, and I'm glad. I've been bored and lonely here at the house. Oh, the woes of the housewife, right?

OH! Last night I heard a mouse in the cabinets above our stove. Andrew opened up the door and there it was! Right on top of my crisco can! It crawled up into this hole that's by our stove vent. Andrew filled the hole with that spray foam stuff, so HOPEFULLY it can't get out again. While he was doing that, I had both hands on my face and was like, "Oh gosh... it was on top of my crisco! Gross!" And andrew pulls it down and is like, "Actually, it was eating holes into it..." And, yes, there were holes on the lid where it was trying to eat it! Along with it's poop! GROSS!!!! I threw it away, of course. I've also been smelling something today that smells like dead mouse... but i'm not sure... and I don't want to look for it. Also, also, one of our sticky traps has fur and poop on it like a mouse was able to get away. GREAT! also, also, ALSO I saw one crawling into one of the eyes of our stove.... This is yet another reason why I DO NOT like living in this house!! If it weren't for the mice and crappy heating/cooling situation, it wouldn't be so bad, i guess... one day we'll own our own house again... one day... and we'll be able to afford to have it treated for pests... and we'll have decent windows that don't let freezing cold air in...

anyway, last night was lots o' fun. things didn't go exactly as planned. We weren't sure andrew was going to be able to get off work in time, but he bugged my brother enough that he finally let him go. by that time, i had already told our baby sitter (my niece) that we didn't need her, so I tried to call her back, but couldn't get in touch. SO luckily, my step-mom cheryl watched Evan for us. We went to this restaurant called Stanfield's which is a steakhouse with TEN DOLLAR ribeyes! heck yes! We even splurged and got an appetizer. yum. I gave andrew his present, and he loved it, of course. :) Evan was so excited to see us when we picked him back up. He kept going back and forth to us and saying "Mommy! Daddy! Mommy! Daddy!" Then he grabbed what he thought was a jacket (but was really his pants) and tried to put it on, so we could leave. Yeah, I guess he loves us after all. :)

Well, I think I'm going to go to my room and watch a movie... probably a movie I've seen a ton so I can fall asleep if I want to and not feel like I'm missing something. Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
