Poop on a stick

Here I am again after another posting hiatus. That word reminds me of "anus." It just does and always will.

This past weekend was really good. Andrew's parents came to visit us Evan. Evan wasn't too sure about them at first, but he ended up loving them after a while. Probably b/c they paid so much attention to him and he loves attention. I felt kinda bad b/c we ate out every meal and they paid for just about all of them... but I didn't feel THAT bad b/c we're pretty broke. haha They took us around Louisiana to show us some sites that we've never seen. We went to the Tobasco plant. The tour was kinda lame, but I really liked the gift shop. They had lots of neat stuff, and if I had money, I would've bought more. But we ended up getting some A-1 with tobasco in it, and some tabasco steak sauce. The second one is for my brother Marion b/c he loves tobasco, so I had to get him something. Then we drove over to New Orleans b/c I had never been there before. Yup, I've lived in Louisiana for over a year and this was my first trip to New Orleans. I realized I hadn't missed out on much. Granted, there were lots of neat things about the place, but there were so many bad things about it, it just kinda cancelled out the neat stuff. Like, for instance, the garbage smell that was everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE! And if there wasn't a garbage smell, there was a cigarettes or beer smell. And we happened to go on St. Patty's Day, so there were lots o' weird people there. (More so than usual, I expect.) Anyway, we didn't stay long, and I decided that I had gotten my New Orleans fill for at least the next lifetime. I did like the artwork that people had displayed out on the streets. That was neat. We saw some guy with this girl playing the flute who was dressed in a mint green spaghetti strap dress with pink feathers and beating on a "drum" (pizza box). haha it was amusing and disturbing at the same time. on the way back, we ate at the restaurant andrew and i went to on our anniversary. those steaks were still as tasty as ever. by the time we got home on saturday, i was exhausted... and so was evan... even though he hadn't eaten any solid foods that night, he slept all night long.

OH, Evan's been eating cereal with a spoon for over a week now. :) He's so funny when he does. He's not an expert at it yet, but he's getting better. The second night i did it, he was pulling my hand with the spoon towards his mouth. haha it was cute. Today he rolled over! I was so excited and he was so proud of himself. I turned him on his stomach again to see if he'd do it again, but he just got mad. He's probably thinking, "I just worked so hard to get back on my back, and then you put me on my stomach again?! what the heck?!" haha

Anyway, I better go. Evan's being "not nice" and I'm supposed to be thinking of things to cook for dinner. I guess all the other things I want to say will have to wait. *sigh*
