bad day turned good

Yesterday was just a teensy bit stressful for me. I was in charge of what they call the "early bird activity" for enrichment meeting last night at church. (For those in the dark, that's when the ladies 18 & over usually waay over haha get together and have different activities like crafts and such...) They have the "early bird activity" 15 minutes before the actual activity to encourage people to get there early. Of course, we never actually start the "early bird activity" (i love putting this in quotes EVERY time) until it's time to start the actual activity... but whatever. Anyway, we generally have a little game with a prize for the winner. I decided that the prizes this time would be some pies. So... i made pies. Our oven is retarded so I burned my pecan pie and couldn't bring it. I made 2 peanut butter pies which turned out okay, so I brought those. And then someone had given me a starter for Amish Friendship Bread (which I seriously doubt came from the Amish since you use instant vanilla pudding...) so I made that to bring as a prize, too. Weeelll... it makes two loaves... one loaf I dropped on the floor as I was taking it out of the oven... so it broke into a million pieces all over the floor. Evan was already screaming... and when it fell on the floor, I started screaming, too. As I was cleaning it up, I burned my finger. Then when I was trying to take the other loaf out of the pan, it fell apart. Fantastic! Needless to say, nobody took the loaf home with them... but I did get rid of all the starters so I don't have to do that every ten days. thank goodness...

Then I thought that some people were coming to our house to look at it, so I cleaned up everything even though I really just wanted to go lay down... but they didn't come.

Oh, and a black cat ran in front of my car on the way back from the store. It was my lucky day!

Thankfully, my husband is awesome and gave me hugs and made feel better when he got home. And everybody loved the game I brought. I even had a few people tell me how fun it was. And they're all like, "Where do you come up with all these games?" Um, the internet. I'm not really that creative... I just steal other people's ideas. haha But I ended up having fun at the activity despite my crappy day.

haha, Evan is so funny. He had his pacifier in his hand and he was so happy. He was moving it around and watching it... then he dropped it and got really sad. Oh, babies... they're so silly. OH, and I have another funny Evan story. The other day he was crying b/c he was hungry. So I was holding him while Andrew was fixing him a bottle. When Andrew handed me the bottle, Evan grapped his pacifier out of his mouth, threw it on the floor, and reached for the bottle. haha He didn't want that fake crap anymore... he wanted the good stuff.

andrew scanned our family pictures for us...

I think evan's face is so funny in this picture.

aaand then he got tired and cranky...

yup, cranky...

Well, i'm going to quit now since evan is yet again tired and cranky... well, he's getting that way... and wiping his snot on my shirt. yum.
