A few days ago, I saw the Lenoid Meteor Shower with my friends. We met at 3:30 in the morning and then walked over to our school's observatory. It was exciting to be out at that time. The last time I was out at 3:30 was when I did the Relay for Life. But that was in the summer when the weather was warmer.
On the way to the observatory I heard an owl. Howls go "Hoot, Hoot" right? Once we were at the observatory, we laid our blankets on the ground, then laid down and looked up. The meteor shower was pretty. I saw quite a few meteors shooting across the sky. Some of my friends saw more. I also have bad peripheral vision. So when my friends go "I just saw one out of the corner of my eye!" I have to turn my head completely in the direction that they just said. And of course the meteor is gone by the time I look because they travel fast.
I also saw Mars, the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Orion's Belt, and other stars that do not make up any constellation. It was also cold, and I walked back to my dorm with my friend's blanket wrapped around me. I also have not returned the blanket yet.
