Last month I went to this place called Longwood Gardens. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. I took 119 pictures because everything was just so amazing. Here are some of them.
The wisteria trees are so beautiful:
Italian Water Garden:
Random pics, both indoors and out:
There was a whole section devoted to orchids. I really love orchids and they had so many varieties:
More random flowers:
It was a great place to play around with my camera settings. There are lots of fountains.
The conservatory is awesome. These are actually tree trunks that have a bunch of ferns and orchids growing out of them:
This is called Flaming Fingers, or something like that. I forget. But it was beautiful!
In the Silver Garden:
The Palm House:
This is the Chimes Tower:
The Topiary Garden is one of my favorite parts:
Sorry for the bajillion pics, but like I said it was just all so amazing! This isn't even half of it. I walked around for about 4-1/2 hours, listening to music and happily snapping pics!
There were treehouses and a bonsai room and big beautiful wooden sculptures. The one disappointment was that the Waterlily Display wasn't open yet. I saw it once before and it was so cool. They have waterlilies that are large enough for a person to stand on! I'm going to go back a little later in the year. The displays change with the seasons. They also have a nice Christmas display from November - January.
I can't imagine how much work it must take to keep this place looking so pristine every day.
