Get these motherf'ing snakes off my motherf'ing boat!

May 08, 2006 17:24

I must have finally lost my mind, because I am seriously considering signing up for the Motherf'ing Snakes! Fic Challenge. Mostly because of the first line of her post: "It's come to my attention recently that snakes are a positive addition to any fandom." Truer words were never spoken ( Read more... )

Do. It. Now.

I was trying to think of other options, and it makes me giggle that I had to stop and seriously think about whether X-Files had ever actually *had* snakes on a plane. Snakes on a flying saucer! Snakes on a plane headed back to Seattle Grace with transplant organs! Snakes on the helicopter that landed on Romano's arm! Snakes on Oceanic Flight 815--that's why it went down in the first place! I'm going to go lie down now.

I've been trying to steal some screenwriter's blog suggestion and turn "snakes on a plane" into "whatcha gonna do?": someone spilled their coffee on you? Snakes on a plane. The cable went out right before a season finale? Snakes on a plane. Stubbed your toe on the book you yourself left on the floor? Snakes on a plane. Doesn't seem to be catching on...

Snakes on the Millenium Falcon! Snakes on The Love Boat! Snakes on a Regency-Era Barouche! Snakes in Earl's El Camino! Snakes on the Ship of the Mooninites! Snakes in Alton Brown's Kitchen!

Or, perhaps most evil of all... Snakes on the White Ship Bearing the Ringbearers from the Grey Havens!

OMG, the fun never stops!

Because I was sticking with the flying machings, it took all I had in me not to put "Snakes on an eagle!" in my first post. Don't hate the playa--hate the game. Or...something.

I totally was. But it's possible I'm over that now.

I've been itching to write something for a couple of days now, but I don't have the energy to start anything ambitious, so I've been at loose ends. Perhaps a bit of fluff is just the ticket.

"Snakes on a Plane Carrying Forensic Anthropologist Temperance Brennan and Special Agent Seeley Booth to a Top Secret Snogging Session in Hawaii!"

Oh you HAVE to write THAT one. Heeeee.

Bwah! It's funny because it's true.

If I can finish up some nagging threads of LOTR stuff, AND this BtVS angst bunny that showed up today, AND my very very deluded plan of making 122 icons for summer_of_giles, then TOTALLY. :D

Sounds like someone needs a NAP! Hee.

Genius though, and you really got me Snakes on the TARDIS and Snakes on the ship that took the Ringbearers to the Grey Havens. Doctor Who already had Horse on a Spaceship last week.

May I suggest Snakes on a Firebolt 2000 or Snakes on a Flying Thestral Carriage, for the HPers among us?

Ooh, very good.

I've been trying to understand Doctor Who, and it's finally clicked, I think--we just watched "The Empty Child," and it freaked both The Brother and me the hell out. Snakes on a zeppelin!

I watched The Empty Child in the dark a couple months ago and was so scared, I had to turn on the lights. The accompanying episode "The Doctor Dances" is quite fantastic.

Snakes on a Tular Warship!
