I had a blast this weekend. Amanda made a surprise visit home Thursday to go to thirsty Thursday at the Crawdad's game with Josh and I. I blew out of work early, visited one of my students at work for a snack the picked up Amanda. Had a few minutes of hilarious chit chat with her parents. They want to set one of us up with their landscaping guy haha. We then proceeded to Josh's house, had a seat on the porch and lost all motivation to go to the game. It was just so nice out and we really didn't want to see a few people from high school that were going to be at the game. Instead, we watched some of the Life episode on primates then sat around talking shit with Lloyd and Mary. Played some guys vs girls trivial pursuit. Girls reigned supreme yet again, completely shutting out Josh and Lloyd one game. "It's nice to play with some smart women!" Josh's parents told us a hilarious story about this guy's uncircumsised dick at a nude beach in Jamaica. They are too funny.
Friday I went to school and dicked around most of the day, talked to Erin and Mrs. Carpenter about potentially not finishing out the semester with them. They said they'd understand. I love the kids so much but it is just such a waste of time I can't justify doing it. Sure, I get paid by my actual time to do things is wasted by going and sitting there. Then I went to Belk and screwed around. They must have hired some new people at corporate to put the sales in the system and they must be on drugs. So much of our time is wasted fucking around with stuff that just ends up changing in a few hours or the next day. Once I got off work I met up with Amanda, Josh, Boggs, and Hunter at Duckworth's to visit Michelle/scope that guy. Failed at both, they were super busy. But we did have some delicious food and beer, still a success in my book. We picked up some beer on the way out of town then hung out at Amanda's. After a brief game of catchphrase we decided to take out the paddleboat and canoe for a late-night cruise. Paddleboating is harder work than Amanda and I remembered so after trying to get the boys to tow us around some, we "raced" them back to the boathouse where we all decided to go swimming. In our inappropriate underwear. Note: the lake is still freezing. It wasn't the best decision but it got me even more anxious about summer getting here and spending some time on the lake. Laying out is just more fun when you can swim too. We hung out some more then took the boys back to Josh's where we hung out even more then Amanda and I were so sleepy so we came back.
Saturday I had the house to myself, well Abby was here too. I spent most of the day just fucking around. I try so hard to keep busy but sometimes it really is nice to just not do anything, like shower and get ready right away. I did eventually shower and get ready because it was Casey's birthday. I met up with her and Amanda at her place then we met up with some of her friends at Dave and Buster's in Concord Mills. It was pretty fun, her friends are really nice. DandB is SO flipping expensive, jeez. I came home way late and got totally freaked out by a car driving down my road.
I meant to go to church again yesterday but was so sleepy and I knew Amanda's mom wouldn't be there and I'd have to sit by myself. I attempted to lay out some but it was super windy and clouds kept blocking my sun. Adam and Jessica came over to visit for a little while and we made plans to eat our Bahama Momma's soon. I did a bunch of resume/cover letter/applying for out of state jobs research yesterday and got some really good tips. I'm gonna do a little revamp of my resume tomorrow (and do some work on Michelle's) and reapply to Epic soon. I got an email from a gal in their hiring department encouraging me to look at the open positions they had available and submit a current application. IDK if Blaire had anything to do with that or if it was just dumb luck that I had prepared all this shit already but I figured it's a "sign" and I'll just do it.
Today I worked all dang day on the truck then redid a bunch of stuff in the ladies department before I left. I need to remember to go by Verizon on my way home and negotiate my bill, hopefully I won't have to pay the entire balance. I'm getting a haircut this Thursday, still not sure what I want to get done but anything is better than what I have now.
