I had a blast this past weekend during my trip home. Thursday I took it easy and hung out with Mom and Fuzzy and Bev who were in town for the weekend staying at the house a few nights. We went to breakfast then relaxed outside on the porch with the dog and all the freaking bugs at my house. We had some sort of crazy fly hatching and they were out of control. Anyway, the Ohioans left, Dad got home from a day of work and Mom and I went for a swim. First swim of the year... it was a little cool but it was nice. We got some crazy thunderstorms later that afternoon - I love a good summer storm, especially on the lake. I went to Amanda's later that night after dinner to watch Philadelphia and drink Sonic slushies. Philadelphia was good, rekindled my love for Tom Hanks and the early 90s.

Friday I got up and ran a bunch of random errands with Dad including going to the garden at Bob's house and picking cherries and snap peas, yum. I had some lunch then went to Amanda's to lay out for a little bit. It was so nice to get some sun. It's been so crappy and rainy for almost the last month both here and at home it was just nice to even see the sun much less lay out. I went with Amanda and Cathy to Brandon and Dana's for lasagna that was delicious and I finally got to meet Amos who was huge and so cute. Once Amanda and I got back we headed over to Dave's. I hadn't seen him in almost a year which was nuts. Throughout the night I had a total blast from the past seeing people I hadn't seen since the summer after graduation or have seen like, once or twice over the last 4 years including: Keith and Colin, Josh Black, Jesse, Bennett, Rean, Lee, Marshall and a few others. Josh D, Mikey and Morgan were there and it was great seeing them. I don't even realize sometimes how long we all go without seeing each other. We made a plan to get together in Asheville and Boone sometime soon. I really did have so much fun hanging out with all of them that night, infinitely more fun than I thought I would have. And I went into it thinking I was going to have fun.

Saturday Amanda and I got up pretty early and went to the Rooms to Go outlet in Charlotte. I was blown away by the drive down there on all of these new roads and stuff. We didn't get anything but SHIT furniture is expensive, even at an outlet. We stopped at the new Midtown Sundries at 16 and 73, delicious. Once we got back we got our stuff together, I let the dog out and we headed back over to Dave's for another beautiful, sunny lake day. We took the boat out for a while and made a stop at Pain Island, except this time it wasn't so painful. We went back to Dave's and met up with Josh and continued to swim and lounge and get sunburned and live the dream. Mikey and Morgan came back over after seeing Drag Me To Hell (which they said was good) and we continued to swim some more. After about 7 hours on the lake we were all starving so we went to dinner at the Sportspage by Harris Teeter and it was flippin awesome. So nice spending time with my buds from home this weekend, especially on Saturday because it was with all of my favorites. I miss living at home and being on the lake during the summer.

I got back up here yesterday morning to go to work and had an all around shitty day dealing with a bunch of dumb shit. Just feeling dumpy and confused all day. Whatever. It'll work out one way or another.

Now I have the day off. It's actually sunny again so I think I'll take a walk to the library in a bit and check out a book or two so I cant sit outside and read on my days off when it's not raining.
