Title: The Artist of Arashi
Pairing: JunToshi (main), AMNOS
Rating: PG-15 (Guild-line)
Genre: Fluff! (Can't think of anything else)
Warning: Mention of sex and the like in the first half. This fanfic only has one proof reader so sorry for mistakes or anything!
Disclaimer: I do not own Arashi, its members, its works/titles/lyrics/etc. All I own is the story.
Summary: Ohno Satoshi is having a bit of a stressful few weeks and he can't seem to focus on anything or gain the motivation to work. His head is a mess and he’s unsure of anything. Insecure and in need of his friends. Jun is there to help and give him the push he needs. What comes from it is magic.
Sitting on the floor in the middle of the living room, Ohno Satoshi is surrounded by crumpled up bits of paper and scribbled out attempts at starting something that all ended in failure.
His hair freshly dried after a long hot bath, and wearing clothes that are just a bit too big on him.
“This is useless. Why can’t I draw anything? Come on head get in the game!” he says to himself out loud hitting his forehead with his pencil.
He tries something new. A frog.
“Nope nothing…” He scribbles it out and scrunches the paper into and ball and chucks it behind him.
“Ow!” cries a voice behind him.
Satoshi turns around to see Jun walking over to him from the bathroom rubbing his forehead.
Matsumoto Jun is naked, with only a towel around his waist, his wet hair covered in water drops and shining.
Jun walks over to the man on the floor and raises an eyebrow looking at the mess of his apartment’s floor.
“Satoshi how many times do I have to remind you to use the bin?” He says picking a few paper balls off the couch and placing them on the coffee table as he sits down behind Satoshi.
“I already filled the bin…” Satoshi points to the said bin with his pencil.
Jun just rolls his eyes and smiles, “Can’t get anything out today?” he says softly but to the point.
Satoshi just pouts and nods.
“Why don’t you try something different?” Jun suggests.
“Like you letting me top for once?” Satoshi looks up at Jun resting his head on Jun’s knee, hopeful and pouts with the best puppy eyes he can pull off.
“Not gonna happen.” Jun smirks.
“Spoil sport. You might like it.” Satoshi smiles innocently.
Jun glares at him, and with a roll of his eyes Satoshi goes back to looking at the blank page in front of him.
“So like fruit or flowers or something generic and ‘normal’ then?” Satoshi thinks.
Jun thinks for a second, “No. Why don’t you draw something you love? That seems to work sometimes right.”
Satoshi just looks confused.
Jun smiles, “Like fish, or boats, or the ocean, or something.”
“Like you or Kazu or Sho or Masaki?” Satoshi looks thoughtful.
“Umm… Sure yeah… Why not? Arashi themed art might be a new thing.” Jun watches the older man start to draw.
Silent seconds pass.
“Ne Jun?” Satoshi says after a few minutes of drawing getting the face templates drawn.
“Hm?” Jun has leaned back on the couch watching Satoshi draw with his hands behind his head, relaxed and content.
“You sure you’re ok with me staying? You have so much work to do at the moment? I feel like…. Like I’m a burden...” Satoshi stops drawing but keeps his head low waiting for Jun’s reply.
Jun sighs and leans forwards and slides his hand into Satoshi’s hair and ruffles it messing it up more than it already was.
“Of course it is Riida. Stop worrying. When it comes to any of you I’d give up all my time for you.” Jun smiles as Satoshi blushes slightly.
“Satoshi, you needed someone and I answered. You turned up on my door step dripping wet, miserable and smelling of fish. I gave up my bath because you needed it more. I cooked you dinner and let you eat the last of my ice-cream. No matter which of you it is at my door, it will always be open and I’d do anything for you.”
Jun wraps an arm around Satoshi’s shoulders and hugs him softly.
“Thank you.” Satoshi whispers, rubbing a tear away from the corner of his eyes.
“Sappy, soft headed old man…” Jun ruffles Satoshi’s hair again and chuckles.
Jun lets Satoshi go and stands up making the older man pout. “I’m gonna get dressed. Then do you wanna watch a movie or something. I’ll let you pick.” He says as he heads to his bedroom.
“Okay.” Satoshi replies and finishes the basic outlines of the faces of all the Arashi members.
“Bin bags are under the sink. Clear the room of paper or I’ll make you sleep on them.” Jun says from his bed room as he dresses.
Satoshi does as he’s told and clears the room of paper and places his pens and pad on the small coffee table.
“Good. You go pick the movie and I’ll make up some tea.” Jun says walking back in wearing thin cotton pyjama bottoms and an open shirt.
Satoshi goes to the massive book shelf Jun has along most of one wall of his apartment. He picks his movie and sits back on the couch with Jun’s large blanket and waits.
Jun returns with two steaming hot mugs of tea. Strawberry and mint tea for him, and honey and cinnamon for Satoshi.
“So what did you pick?” Jun asks as he takes his seat next to Satoshi and lets the older man snuggle against him.
“Pikanchi Life Is Hard Dakedo Happy.” Satoshi settles against Jun.
His choice of movie surprises and makes Jun smile. “Not seen that one in a long time. What made you pick it?” Jun asks pressing play on the remote and wrapping an arm around Satoshi.
Satoshi pulls up the blanket around them and curls an arm over Jun’s waist, his hand and arm touching Jun’s warm soft skin of his belly.
“I don’t know. I guess it reminds me of our early days.” Satoshi says softly and almost purrs against Jun’s chest where he settles his head.
Jun just smiles and they settle to watch the movie. Laughing and remembering the days they filmed it. Remembering the hardships during it and how it bought them closer together as a group.
At the end of the movie Satoshi yawns and stretches against Jun who is switching off the TV.
“I miss the old stuff.” Jun says.
“Mmm…” Satoshi is already beginning to fall asleep.
“Hey you... Don’t go falling asleep here.” Jun says shaking Satoshi’s shoulder lightly.
“Where else can I sleep though Jun?” Satoshi says as he sits up stretching again.
“In a bed? Come on.” Jun says getting up and pulling the blanket off Satoshi.
“Hmm?” Satoshi looks up at Jun with a confused sleepy face.
Jun chuckles and holds his hand out to Satoshi. “Come on sleepy head. You’re sleeping with me. Not gonna leave you out here alone now am I.”
Satoshi’s eyes sparkle blazing over with tears in the low light of the room. A warm fuzzy feeling he hasn’t felt in a long time bubbles up inside his chest and a lump forms in his throat.
“Jun… Tha.. nk… you…” Satoshi whispers out as he takes Jun’s hand softly.
Jun smiles softly when he realises Satoshi is feeling a bit more emotional than he first thought. He leads Satoshi to the bed room and switches off the lights in the house except the bedrooms single lamp next to his bed.
“Which side you want?” He asks pulling back the duvet.
“The side you don’t want.” Satoshi whispers back.
“Riida… Come on. It’s ok.” Jun says walking over to the elder and patting his head.
“You big softy... Just get in and I’ll be right back.” Jun says leaving the room.
Satoshi watches Jun leave then looks at the bed.
It’s been a long time since he shared a bed with Jun or any of his band members. Usually just crashing on the couch was the normal routine unless something else happens in the bed before they pass out from exhaustion.
Jun seems to have noticed Satoshi is in need of something far deeper than sex or anything like that can give.
Walking to the side of the bed Satoshi spots a picture on Jun’s bed side table and picks it up to inspect it further in the light.
It’s a double frame. In the left frame is a picture of them in Hawaii for their debut. The second frame is the exact same picture but they are older, their 15th anniversary concert trip to Hawaii where they relived their first days as a group.
Tears fall down Satoshi’s cheeks without warning, hot and full of memories. Burning his cheeks with the love he has for them all.
“Riida…” Jun whispers against Satoshi’s ear as he wraps his long arms around Satoshi’s chest from behind and hugs him tightly.
Satoshi just leans into Jun and lets his tears fall freely.
All the stress and pressure of the last few weeks, fades away as he’s held in a strong embrace.
“It’s ok.” Jun whispers. Satoshi’s arms wrap over Jun’s and holds him in place.
Satoshi remains silent just small sobs as he cries.
Eventually Jun lets him go but only to place the picture back on the table and sit Satoshi on the bed.
“Arashi fever huh?” Jun smiles kneeling down and brushing his thumbs over Satoshi’s cheeks to wipe away the tears.
Every time Satoshi blinks a new tear falls. “I love you… all of you.”
“I know. So do I. We all love what we have and what we have is Arashi.” Jun replies softly brushing the tears off.
“Our chubby little Riida...” Jun stands up and kisses Satoshi’s forehead before moving to the other side of the bed and sliding in.
“Come on Satoshi.” He says lying down and holding his arms open.
Satoshi sniffs and pouts as he rolls into the bed and instantly shuffles into Jun’s open arms, getting as close as possible to the younger man.
Jun wraps his arms around the small body and softly strokes his head letting the short hairs run through his fingers.
“Sleep now and tomorrow I’ll cook you breakfast and we can spend the morning doing whatever you want to do.” Jun says kissing the top of Satoshi’s head.
Satoshi nods and buries his head into Jun’s neck his nose softly touching the skin. His breathe warm against Jun as he closes his eyes.
Jun holds Satoshi tightly continuing to run his fingers through the short hair. He smiles as he feels the gentle slow breaths of Satoshi against his neck sign his leader is already asleep.
Jun looks over at the pictures on his bedside table. “Draw us a storm Satoshi... A Storm for the past, and the present, and the future.”
Jun once again kisses Satoshi’s head and Satoshi nuzzles closer. He closes his eyes and is soon asleep as well.
----------------
Weeks later and all of Arashi have been gathered onto the set of Anishi before filming their next episode.
“What’s going on?” Sho asks Jun. Jun just shrugs.
“I was busy you know.” Kazunari crosses his arms over his chest.
“Where’s Riida?” Masaki pouts and looks to the others. They all look around them.
“But he was with us when we left the green room?!” Kazunari says annoyed.
“Hang on why is the wall covered?” Sho asks.
“It’s a surprise.” Satoshi walks out from behind the covered wall.
“There you are.” Jun says. “Where the hell did you wonder off too? You know we we’re called here about something and you walk off. Baka...”
Satoshi just smiles shyly.
“Hang on. You said surprise. What do you mean?” Jun looks at the wall then to Satoshi.
“It’s my present to all of us.” Satoshi’s smile becomes happier and stands next to the wall gripping the cloth covering the wall.
With a small pull from Satoshi the cloth softly falls to the floor revealing the wall covered in art.
A giant Sakura tree stands on the wall.
In the base of the trunk of the tree sits the Kanji for Arashi with their debut date and location below.
Around it is each of their faces with their birthdays displayed.
Branching off is a branch for each concert they have done since they started. Their 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th anniversaries highlighted.
Further branches show their TV shows; Old, Current and New.
Their albums and singles, and any of their best songs marked on the leaves.
Moment’s in their past, good and bad marked with the sakura flowers.
The grass and plants lining the earth at the foot of the tree scattered with moments from their junior days.
Their families and friends marked as the roots of the tree.
Written above their faces on the tree reads:
“To Our Past. To Our Present. To Our Future and Beyond. We Are Forever A Storm.”
The 4 other member stare at the wall in silent awe.
What feels like hours passes and Satoshi is beginning to worry. He looks at their faces showing a mixture of emotions and all a mess.
Suddenly as if reading his mind they turn to Satoshi.
“So... um… what do you guys think?” Satoshi shuffles his foot on the floor and looks down blushing and worried, like a school girl that has just confessed her love for the first time.
“Riida….” They all say together.
Satoshi looks up to then be pulled into the tightest hug he’s ever had.
Suddenly he’s very aware of the emotion bubbling in him and as if on que his tears just fall.
Jun’s directly in front of Satoshi and he strokes his head softly.
“Shush. Riida, it’s ok.” He whispers into Satoshi’s ear.
Satoshi hears soft sobs from his left, Masaki’s head on his shoulder crying.
Sho stood behind him his arms wrapped around the oldest a few tears staining his cheeks.
Kazunari’s head on his other shoulder his eyes closed and just hugging him softly.
“We love it.” The 4 says together. “We love it but we love you so much more.” Masaki adds his voice hoarse from crying trying to get control again.
Satoshi sniffs and his tears continue to fall.
“Baka… We’ve been so worried about you these last few weeks and this is what you were hiding.” Sho gently hits Satoshi’s head as the hug loosens.
They all let Satoshi go as they turn to look at the wall again.
“It’s stunning. It’s beautiful. It’s perfect. It’s magical…” Masaki sniffs, stopping to think of another word.
“Words can’t truly describe it.” Jun says as he slips his hand into Satoshi’s and intertwines their fingers in a tight comforting grip.
“That’s for sure.” Sho agrees.
“You sure that’s what my nose looks like?” Kazunari remarks.
“Kazu!” Masaki says a little too loudly still a bit teary so there is no bite to it. “Take that back! It’s perfect the way it is! Don’t be so mean.” He hits Kazunari’s head.
“Ow! Hey I was joking. You’re all getting to mushy and sappy it’s gross!” He protests rubbing his head. “God Masaki you didn’t have to hit me.”
“Then don’t say insensitive things like that.” Masaki complains back and hugs Satoshi’s arm.
“Stop it you two. Please can’t you see you’re ruining this?” Sho says seeing Satoshi’s emotional face looking at the floor.
“He didn’t mean it Satoshi. It’s perfect as it is.” Sho says. Satoshi’s grip on Jun’s hand grows tighter but Jun remains still.
Satoshi looks at the wall, “I love you guys so much I wanted to show you what you all mean to me. This was the only way I knew how. I know I don’t say much, I’m quiet and sometimes hide in the background and I don’t often tell you how I feel or what I thinking but well this is just it. This is my feelings.” Satoshi says softly almost in a whisper.
Jun leans down a little to the shorter man holding his hand and he kisses his head softly burying his nose in the short fluffy hair.
“You don’t need to tell us anything. We already know how you feel. We’ve always known. Even in your silence we knew Satoshi.” Jun whispers and the others nod.
Satoshi is pulled once again into Jun’s arms in a tight embrace. “Baka-Riida. I can’t believe you heard me that night, I thought you we’re asleep.”
Satoshi just sniffs and buries against Jun’s chest. Sho pulls Masaki to him to give Satoshi more room with Jun.
“You mean that night you spent together when he showed up on your door step Jun?” Sho asks stroking Masaki’s head as he now clings to him.
Jun nods.
“Well I don’t know about you lot, but we have some filming to do in half an hour, and most of you have been crying for the past, I don't know how long, so you all look a mess now.” Kazunari is stood in front of them his arms crossed over his chest.
“Kazu… Come on. Don’t be so bratty. We’ll fix ourselves up in a while. For now just come over here...” Jun replies.
“Please Kazu.” Satoshi lets out holding his hand to Kazunari.
“Oh you baby! Fine!” Kazunari says walking over and joining Satoshi in Jun’s hug.
“Better?” Jun smiles at the shorter man in his arms. Satoshi mumbles something against Jun’s chest and Kazunari just grunts.
After a while they part and return to their dressing room to sort themselves and get ready for filming.
-----
After filming that episode Jun invites them all to his place for drinks and food knowing full well that they need it, especially Satoshi.
After a long night talking about the wall, the memories and everything that has happened in the many years they have been together and before, they all decide to call it a night.
Masaki remembering something from their earlier years proposes they drag out the futons and sleep together in the living room.
After some begging and pleading from Masaki and the tug on Jun’s shirt from Satoshi he agrees as long as they behave and help clear up.
They clear the room and move Jun’s couches to make room for the 5 small futons on the floor.
They all quickly settle into the beds with each other. Cramped due to the room being small but content with each other’s presence they all begin to drift to sleep.
All except Satoshi who sits up to look at the others and within seconds of seeing his band mates all so close his tears begin to fall again and small sobs leave his body.
“Satoshi?” Jun says sitting up in the low light of the room.
“Sorry Jun…. pl…please.. go ….. back to ….sleep” He says trying to breath and stop crying.
“Hey, Satoshi... God, it’s ok.” Jun instantly pulls Satoshi into his arms once again for the hundredth time in the last few weeks.
“It’s ok, just calm down.” He tells Satoshi who buries against him.
Jun strokes his head and rocks him back and forth gently.
Sho looks up from his place on the floor, Masaki very closely curled up in his arms.
Jun just nods to Sho and he lets Satoshi cry till he can’t cry anymore and has fallen asleep in his arms.
“He ok?” Kazunari asks softly as Jun lays back on his futon holding Satoshi against him like a child.
Jun watches Satoshi for a few seconds. He’s breathing steadily and soft, signs he’s in a deep exhausted sleep.
“Yeah he will be. Just needs us close right now...” Jun whispers moving a few strands of hair from Satoshi’s face and smiling at the sleepy chubby boy in his arms.
“We all need him.” Masaki mumbles against Sho’s neck.
“Thought you were asleep?” Sho raises an eyebrow.
Masaki just smiles and nuzzles. Sho sighs and hugs him tight.
“We’ve needed each other since day 1 and I intend to stay till the end of our days.” Kazunari whispers as he turns to face the couch, “Satoshi needs us and we need Satoshi. Arashi needs us and we need Arashi.”
After a pause the last words spoken that night are from Kazunari Ninomiya, before all 5 boys enter into their little Arashi dreamland, a smile spreading softly on Satoshi’s face.
“A storm the world will never forget…...”
The End!
Hope you all enjoyed it!
