its the final countdown...

i'm exhausted and haven't written for like 2 and a half months but i figured it just takes that first step and then i'll be back into the joring groooove as they say... i just had my first sat tutoring thing, basically succumbing to all that is wrong with the college/school process, but I knew I would from the beginning, i was just to stubborn to admit it. in any case i hate having some dude watch over me as i do problems my own fucked up way that i can't explain to anyone. but he seems okay enough. i guess. god i'm exhausted... you'd think since i've been doing NOTHING this week and last week, i'd be pretty sleep fulfilled, but my inability to rest makes that sorta impossible.

there's so much to catch up on but nothing really needed... france was incredible, overwhelming and BEAUTIFUL in every way possible. It was so good to be back that we started singing "proud to be an american" in the airport and the customs man asked if we were always this loud and i shouted at him with joy because he spoke english. annecy is possibly the most picturesque place i've ever been, and by far the highlight of the trip for me. in any case, i have 8 rolls of pictures so if you're interested... they explain it better than any incoherency i could spit out.

i came home to the ice cream smith and more beautiful weather, and promptly got myself signed up to be an all day volunteer at cranberry hill, this organic cranberry farm run by bob and kristine keese, the coolest people alive... (www.organiccranberries.com)... basically just my summer job dreams come true. minus the not getting paid. i had about an hour commute which i cut down to about 35 minutes, and they had goats and tons of bunnies and chickens and baby chickens and two big main bogs and two huge vegetable etc gardens and i just got to be the farm girl to my hearts desire. EVERYTHING they had me do there was for a reason, and that's why i liked it. we pull the weeds to help the cranberries, the weeds feed the goats who fertilize the gardens, we weed the gardens and feed that to the chickens and the bunnies, you cut the grass to use as mulch... i know a lotta people would rather die than shovel goat manure (read: smelly, heavy, steamy shit mixed with smelly, heavy, steamy hay) but for some reason, i've never really been more content. i hope to get out there this september and help them with the harvest, and of course anyone else is welcome to join me :o)

that was only for three weeks though, and since then for the past two weeks i'm not exactly sure on how i've been amusing myself, mainly last week running lots of errands, getting some shit done that i've needed to, and just seeing people. scodes and coops are finally home and its been incredible to see them, obviously lots of los and sone because umm i live with them and sone's parents have really become my surrogate ones and its cool... saw ju and tom on days off, buncha an and her broken clavical... little merl.... little cbakes... its just been a good mix.

last thursday, went and saw fucking pat mcgee band in concert free on the copley. obviously incredible. me and anna, 5 feet from pat himself (who, by the way, is soooo much more good looking in person than i possibly could have imagined from the ugly ass pics i had seen)... they were incredible live and SO NICE afterwards. all of their songs were awesome, even the ones i hadn't heard that are coming out on their new cd next year... then they all came and chilled outside and we got to meet them and take pics with them and tell them what big fans we were etc... very exciting.

i headed out to islesborough maine (that's not how you spell it, leave me alone...) for the weekend - or friday morning through monday afternoon rather - to visit andrew. it was incredible. i had almost forgotten that i need to spend more time in maine or else i might go clinically insane... basically he lives on this 14 mile long island where they know everyone and where every 10 feet you see something else beautiful. from porpoise that swim around the boat to 50 cent booksales to a blue heron rookery to huuuugeeee fern fields where you can just lie down and make a little cave and no one can see you... it was incredible. his sister kate is really nice and her roommate caitlin was down too, and we all got along really really well, along with various island friends who i met (mainly laura, ned, and david (think younger version of seth magaziner)). so it was just amazing and i came home and slept for 6 hours because i was so exhausted. and then saw seabiscuit which was... heartwarming haha. yesterday was boring and i'm sure today will be too. i need a hobby that is NOT taking practice sats and getting tutored because so far those have proven to be less exciting than sleep. i should probably start summer reading. HA!

arite enough of this pathetic summary shit. hopefully with this i'll be able to get back into writing. peaceeeee.
