I remember...

watching pinwheel in the living room

eating grapenuts without sugar and liking it in Florida

playing the wooden maze

race horses

buying my first perfume, sunflowers, and a pair of keds

having backup when my mom went a little nuts

sleeping over and thinking it was my mom's voice in the kitchen

breakable things

antique dolls on the piano

plants on the patio

taking the long walk to the pool

the hall of mirrors

listening to the "ribbish" fall down the shoot

being tall enough to push the button for the seventh floor

waving to the security gaurds when they buzzed us in

meeting Al before anyone else in the family

Grandpa Gulbenkian and his magic hankerchief mouse

learning to spell Gulbenkian

her laugh

her smile

her closet with all its shoes and bags

teddy bears

the painting of the house next to her bed

all of the paintings in her house

backgammon

the name plaque in her car that said it was made just for her

the garage and the mail room and the way they smelled

the apolstery on the chairs in the kitchen in florida

chocolate wafers

grapefruit halfs and grapefruit spoons

soft boiled eggs and eating them with Grandpa

cinnamon raison bread and honey butter

the bottles of pills on the kitchen table

ham for easter

german chocolate cake

christmas

cards for everything

shopping at beachwood

mcdonalds

the little mermaid at severence next to the food court

higbee bear

how proud but nervous she looked when she introduced me to Al

Al's sculptures

the softest coziest bed ever

stories about junior college and osu where she met my Grandpa Prouty

dropping me off at Bowling Green

telling me to stand up straight

don't bite my cuticles

smile

be nice to your mother she's my little girl

the fold out couch in florida

the beach

teal tercel

walking to the pool in florida

shuffleboard

brunch at the shaker club

the lotions in the bathrooms at shaker club

...and so many more...

My Grandma died on Monday. She was 80 years old.
I miss her so much.
