The language is probably a little hackneyed and out of date, since it's from old US govt service worker's courses, but hey, beats paying an assload for them on Amazon

I've always wanted to learn Japanese (it was my culural studies focus in college) but the issues are too weird. (My grandmother was forced to learn Japanese and not allowed to speak Korean, and given a new Japanese name, etc).

Your high school taught Japanese (which, I note, doesn't appear on the linked page)? *envy* I had to make do with four months of teaching myself before I went. Lucky for me most of the folks there are patient with furriners.
