Part 1: Wizards, Mermaids, Books, and Björk

This contest is very important to me - the Harry Potter Alliance does a lot of good work for important causes like this. And my work could potentially be seen by some truly awesome people, including Evanna Lynch, Harry and the Potters, Jason Alexander, and John and Hank Green...
♥ Last week I received a gorgeous Artist Andrea Little Mermaid Eco Tote in the mail, from a giveaway through Art School Grad, an amazing Etsy team that I belong to. I love mermaids (I used to be really into them and have a small collection), and I've recently started using tote bags for summer rather than a purse, so this giveaway was perfect timing! Andrea does beautiful work; you can see more here at www.artistandrea.com, or at her Etsy shop. Thank you to Andrea for the tote, and to Allie from Art School Grad for putting together the giveaway :)
♥ The What I Wore Today Drawings group is putting out a book! So exciting, I love What I Wore Today and can't wait to get my hands on a copy... I'm thrilled that one of my drawings was selected to be in it:
♥ And I'm sure this is old news to anyone who is already a Björk fan, but I'm getting all worked up by her newest project, Biophilia. A couple of songs have been released already and I've been listening to Crystalline on repeat. I love the end.
Part 2: Tumblr/Twitter, RAM Square, Contest News, and Outlet Magazine
♥ First news first: I am now on both Tumblr and Twitter! I think I have finally made it to all parts of the internet. Both of these are going to have lots more than just art... I've been craving somewhere to post unrelated thoughts and photos and inspiring images and, of course, GIFS. Do let me know if you're on either so that I can follow you! I am hannahthebird on both.
♥ I completed a new square for the Riverside Arts Market Art Gallery! This is the last round of squares for the year, but there are plenty of beautiful pieces on display until winter, so be sure to stop by if you're in or around Jacksonville. Here's my most recent (Photoshop did something strange with the wood grain when I photomerged this, but otherwise):

♥ Imagine Better contest news: I didn't win, but I did finish in the top 10, which means my work will be seen by the judging panel! Thank you so much to everyone who voted and shared. It means so much to me - you guys are the very best. <3
♥ During the next week or so I'm moving into the finishing stages of some work for Outlet Magazine, an upcoming e-zine dedicated to the creative arts and those who pursue them. Outlet has taken me on as their resident illustrator, and I am beyond excited for their first October/November issue, for which I have been working on some NaNoWriMo-themed illustrations! I've also been in the beginning stages of a little side project with my dear Angie (i_sing_anyway), illustrations for a couple of collaborative short stories... I can't wait for launch, but you can also keep up with Outlet on facebook until then!
