You know, I've been trying to think of a way of expressing what Joanna Newsom's music means and after seeing her the other night it makes me feel a little better about the world. I just read a quote from Sean Rabin at www.news.com.au that sums it all up really:

"Such a new idea of beauty is a retort to the world's woes: it makes one grateful to be alive when such wonderful music is being made."

Precisely.
