And we're back.
So I'm starting a new semester here. Taking Linguistics (easy), Vocal Production for the stage (potentially hardish- I must memorize 5 Shakespearian speeches), Choir (Choir is choir), Telecommunications regulations and policies (eep), German Cinema, and History of Theatre. Don't know about the last two because they come tomorrow. Yay. I am just really not pumped at all about this semester. Everyone is down, and switching schools... just not a happy place. I am soooo exhausted though, I took 2 naps today- I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Geeze. And it was all rainy-- I am sooo complainy. :o( I really need to work on my whining... I do it... ALOT.
But on a good note- I got the CMT internship! Yes! I start on May 15th, and I go for 10 weeks, or maybe more depending on how I feel. But I have a feeling that I will never want to leave. I work from 9-6 everyday, in downtown Nashville. I am really excited. I feel like I am getting a head start to my career, building my resume, and growing up. :o) I get to work closly with the photographer. I do boring stuff like write e-mails, reply to views, sort photographs, clear photographs, crop and size them, work on the web page... but I also get to do exciting stuff! There are recording studios in the building where artists come in an... well, record. When they come I get to make sure the artist is comfortable, help with catering, and assisting whatever is needed. The lady who interviewed me said that Martina McBride was in there recently. I also get to take timecode for the production, so that means i get to sit in on the recording- exciting! Also there is a concert series called summer fest where I get to go and take photographs and such. Not a big fan of country- but I'm guessing by the end of the summer I'll love it. hee hee.
It was really neat because at the interview, after I had already gotten the job, somehow my family came up. I told Mrs. Priesmyer that my grandfather and dad worked with TNN and WSMV, and she asked me who my grandfather was. I told her who and she got the biggest smile on her face... "Elmer Alley!?! He was my meantor! He was the first person to hire me, and I really looked up to him! Hannah- I liked you before, but now I love you!!!" That really made me smile! :o) Then after that every person she introduced me to she said, "This is Elmer Alley's granddaughter!" And alot of people knew my family. There was even a man there who atteneded high school with my father and worked with my dad at TNN. It was really comforting to come to a first woking environment with people knowing where you come from, and liking your family. I have alot to live up to though! "The third generation of Alley's in Nashville's country music, and television!!"
I just can't wait to start that. So now all I have to do is get through this crappy semester. Blah. I need some positive attitudes to help me. Cause, I'm kinda down these days...
Ok Well... people need to update this more often causeeeee I'm getting bored reading Nothing new.
nite!
