Listen close to everybody's heart and hear that breaking sound...
This was the second night in a row, that Hannah had felt off. She was certain that she was hiding it, that her demeanor was the same as usual. Hannah was wrong, however and Derek had most certainly noticed that she was off. He asked her if she wanted to talk about anything, but she simply shook her head. They only had so much time to fire chat, why should she waste it by going on about her petty problems?
By the third night, however, Hannah had lost it. It was a difficult week at work, and the baby was not keeping to her schedule. Hannah was near tears when her husband popped up for a fire chat. And it was this night that she broke down, and Derek listened, worried about his wife. He hated that he couldn't be there with her, but it was his week at training. As she continued, Derek tried to talk her down, and be his supportive self.
Hannah was curled up with her pillow, talking in a low voice between sniffles and tears.
