curses and pickle jars! my 0.3 black ink pen has run out (thanks to
waster60268 and that celtic knot she was working on)! ah, the good die so young!
but anyways, that's not why i wanted to post. i've gotten out of my tori amos listening funk and have landed squarely into a sufjan stevens b-sides/rarities funk which is much more delightful emotionally (and equally delightful musically).
but that's not what i wanted to write about either. the main point of this post is that i received my first ever interlibrary loan as a library technician working in my own library and creating my first ILL procedures and processes! this happened on wednesday and was the first time in a long time that i geeked out at work. (an altogether delightful and rewarding feeling). it was a thick, heavy book: bert spilker's "guide to clinical trials" which i've been trying to purchase for the library for several months. it seems that it is a very popular book that gets snatched up as soon as there's a copy available for purchase (to my great annoyance). it's a pity that they haven't done a second printing of it.
in other news,
check out the latest interview with colin meloy. delightful, juicy chatter about the crane wife that's coming out in october. will they be able to dish out a couple more tain-caliber epics? what is all this about absinthe?
p.s. -- so far, the teams i chose in the soccer pool are doing well. .. well, only one of my teams has played so far... but still! i hope paraguay and england draw tomorrow (my money's on both of them).
