arbitrary description: "A very masculine fragrance, fresh and daring. Citrus fruit and exotic grasses and mosses create a sexy, fresh and green perfume, with a hint of fruity aroma. Delicious and refreshing especially in the summer, this is enjoyed by men and woman alike so watch your bottle or it will run out before you know it!"
notes: Basil, Bergamot, Hay Absolute, Jasmine Grandiflorum, Lemon Verbena, Lemongrass Lime, Oakmoss, Patchouli
my take on it: after one whiff of this scent at the portobello west market, i knew i had to get a sample. it has an earthy smell with hints of citrus almost like those scented cleaning products except without being offensively fake -- it is fresh and clean smelling.
the top notes were definitely more citrus-y when applied. lemons, limes, and there's the bergamot! it reminded me of
lemonheads and how tasty they were when my sister would bring them home from high school in her pencil case and share them with me on warm days in spring.
the citrus eventually faded and the mossy undertones took over making the scent more masculine. the girly me is a bit iffy about wearing something so strong, but i'm a girl who has always liked the smell of old spice and dirt. which begs the question: who am i trying to please with these perfumes? myself? or a fellow? ultimately, it would be myself... but what does a guy like in a scent -- they're the ones that wear the old spice (well, some do)... do they like the smell or is it because they know girls like the smell (well, some)?
in any event, the scent lasted throughout the day. it survived sunscreen, being out in the sun and digging around in the dirt and by the end of the day, i could still smell its pleasantly muted scent upon my wrist.
rating: ***** but it's not everybody's cup of tea, i'm sure.
