(this is on mypspace too, sorry for the double-ness of it all)

I was asked today to write a poem, and to read it at graduation, as a part of the commencement ceremony. This is such an incredibly big deal, I don't think I've accepted it yet.

I'm completely blown away, and touched, and proud, and scared shitless, and... Everything.

I am incredibly pleased with myself, especially considering that I had no influence in this decision at all. The administration though of me all on their own, and apparently think I am worthwhile, despite my seriously shitty GPA and lack of college plans. It's huge that my Mormon, conservative school even considered letting me do this. I'm still in shock that they even thought about me. Students like me don't get honors like this, we just get the fuck out of there. I didn't think I was even on their radar.

I feel very special. This means so much to me. I feel like being me is enough, finally.

And I'm ready to own this.

(And the apparent title of "That Poet Girl".)
