Rob and Jordie got me addicted to watching
The Mighty Boosh.
The moon both icks me out and makes me giggle violently.

That's so fucking creepy.
I've become a youtube addict in general. The other day I spent at least two hours watching videos of fainting goats.

I've been out of work most of the week.
My boss hasn't got the hang of our new lab yet (two days in the mail each way does not mean that it will be back in four days). When it gets back I'll have 44 rolls of film to deal with, mostly from weddings that are at least three weeks old. Hurrah.
To top it off, he has to call every other day and let me know that it isn't back yet. This morning he called at 9:30 a.m.
I was most unhappy.

June 12th we have another vet appointment. This time three out of four of the little darlings are going.
My vet has started doing something kinda of cool. She mails out the pre-visit info to fill out before the appointment so everything runs smoother. It includes all the information about the surgery along with various options and prices.
This way you're not trying to contain animals and fill out paperwork. You can also look over everything beforehand and call them with any questions.
Of course, it also gives me a chance to really dwell on the rectal stitches I'll need after paying for this.
The two girls are going in for teeth cleaning, which requires general anesthetic. I've put it off almost a year so it has to be done. They can get abscesses and such just like humans...and they can't tell us they have a toothache. Mouth is due for all his vaccinations and a checkup.
The run-down.
Smokey--Tooth cleaning with standard bloodwork. Pain medication if they have to remove teeth.
Lou--Tooth cleaning with "senior blood profile" (a whopping $125.00), thyrhoid assessment to see if something in that department is causing her digestive problems, pain medication if they have to remove teeth.
Mouth--FL/FIV vaccine, rabies vaccine, fecal exam, general wellness check, extensive blood profile (another $60.00) to make sure last year's "bladder debacle" didn't cause any kidney damage.
Altogether, I'm looking at counting myself lucky if I get out of this paying less that $500.
Then, in early September, Lou, Spivey, and Smokey all need their booster shots and checkups.
I actually looked into pet health insurance the other night, laughing at myself for yet again paying more attention to their health care than my own.
I'm just scared something like what happened with Mouth will happen again and I'll have to have one put down because I can't pay for treatment.
I can go to the ER. They can't.
It doesn't help that all four of them are over 7 years old. Three are comfortable seniors, Lou is a feline Methuselah.
Thus, preventative medicine is more important and "special needs" crop up far too often.
Evil, expensive beasts! And they think I mistreat them by occasionally allow their food bowls to become empty.
It's alright--Revenge will be mine. I saw a flea on Mouth. Tonight is bath time for the kitties.

Tropical depression Barry sprinkled on us, nothing major, just enough rain to make my morning glories so nuts. On is already 3/4 of the way up the trellis and several have little buds on them. *grin*
I'm out of cigarettes. Time to brush my hair (it's been neglected for a couple days now) and head out into the world.
Edit: What the bloody hell is up with LJ? Both Semagic and the LJ site are interacting badly with my firewall. I can't post without turning it off, despite rules set to pass both. It stopped misbehaving for awhile this morning but now seems to be back to being obnoxious.
I'm also missing some comment notifications--so, if I miss yours, I'll get back to you in a couple days when I will certainly get a giant clump of them.
And while I appreciate spell check on posts and comments, I don't understand why it hates the word "okay" and suggests "Tokay" as an alternative.
