Howdy blogosphere.
How's it goin'? So I haven't died - just been plodding along day by day and tweeting instead of blogging (I always say this but whatevs - I don't post often my I check my friends page almost daily so I'm still up to date with most peoples' posts and stuff.)
Well it's exam time again, which means I crack out the insane procrastination and decide it'll be apt to update this little baby with the goings on of the last year or so.
I'm in the final year of my degree, so my life has been taken over by carrying out my dissertation research - which I have complained about a lot but sort of loved at the same time. I'm busy ALL THE TIME. When I'm at uni I'm either in lab, in lectures, writing up lab crap or doing Russian work (with some TV and a lot of baking thrown in too). Now I'm at home (until Wednesday) I'm working full time, revising, preparing my lab book to be handed in next week, and writing masters applications - which are far more complicated than they should be. I'm applying for 9 places at various universities. I'm sort of totally desperate to study Science Communication at Imperial, but I'm not getting my hopes up because I'm only medium clever and have been incredibly inarticulate of late - hardly conducive to article writing for aptitude assessments. I'm also applying to study Green Chemistry because I kind of dig ionic liquids and environmental science - I probably have more chance of studying that as I know more about it and it's basically my entire disseration. Eh, time will tell.
Not much has happened that's worth noting. Christmas has been good and relatively quiet. I've not really seen much of anyone because I've been so busy - I'm pretty much being an all 'round rubbish amigo at the moment. Once exams and MSc applications are done I should improve quite a lot. Roll on January 16th.
Exciting things about this year? I'll finally have a degree by the end of June, I'm going to see Lady Gaga in March (don't judge me), I'm going to be a bridesmaid in August, starting my masters and if not I'm going to travel for 9 months around Eastern Europe (Russia! Yay!) and North America. If I don't travel for that long, I'm determined to spend next Christmas in St Petersburg (funds permitting) because I love Russia, it snows, it's pretty and it's only a few degrees colder than it is here at that time of year - and I want to put my Russian to good use because I'm sort of embarassed to use it here in front of people I don't know.
So baking's my new thing - I've been doing it pretty much non-stop for the last year or so. I'm sure my housemates and friends hate me because I don't even like cake and insist on making them and then forcing them to eat them. Anyhow, have some photos:

That's about it. I should probably crack on with my Personal Statement now.
I'll most likely do one of those '09 year in review TV/Music/Film things at some point.
